The objective of this project was to design a portal for the mortgage company, Ameriquest in the US, so that the time from when the user requests the loan to the time when he/she acquires it is reduced from two months to one month. The module that I was involved in was Vendor Integration Platform (VIP). This module is a bridge, which is used to connect the application with the various vendors. The ASAP application sends messages to the ESB in the MISMO format, which is picked up by VIP and send in the vendor’s required format to the various vendors. I was involved in interacting with the clients in the US for this work. I was also involved in the installation and configuration of Weblogic server, version 7.0, 8.1.0 and 8.1.2, creation of database dumps, the restoring of the SQL databases, the overall responsibility of editing of Log4J’s internal format messages to the required format and also in the code support of this module. I was also involved in the migration of data and schema of SQL Server to Oracle database for this module along with the code to support this migration of databases. I was also effectively put in charge of the encryption and decryption of sensitive fields of the Log4J log files using the DES and RSA algorithm. I was also involved in administrating the Solaris servers to mount the required slices, tailing and deletion of logs, adding of users and automounting of slices. I also installed the Solaris OS using the Web Start installation method. Editing of files using the vi editor to modify as required was also one of my many tasks being done on the Solaris machines.
