1) Coaching Medical Microbiology to under graduate students of medicine (MBBS), dentistry (BDS) nursing (BSc Nursing) and Laboratory sciences (BSc MLT).
Courses included:
• General Bacteriology - bacterial taxonomy, morphology, cultivation, virulence/ pathogenicity, sterilization, disinfection, bacterial genetics, antimicrobial susceptibility testing and mechanisms of bacterial resistance.
• Immunology - immunity, innate & acquired immunity, immune response, auto immunity and antigen antibody reactions.
• Systematic Bacteriology - all medically important aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, its morphology, pathogenesis, clinical features, laboratory diagnosis, prophylaxis and treatment.
• Medical Mycology - taxonomy, morphology, cultivation, virulence, pathogenesis, laboratory diagnosis and antifungal therapy.
• Medical Virology - classification, morphology, cultivation, pathogenesis, diseases, prophylaxis, laboratory diagnosis and treatment.
• Medical Parasitology - classification, morphology, cultivation, pathogenesis, diseases, prophylaxis, laboratory diagnosis and treatment.
• Clinical Microbiology - respiratory tract infections, diarrhoeal diseases, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases, meningitis and nosocomial infections.
2) Practical classes comprising - microscopy, study of bacterial motility, staining of bacteria including simple staining and differential staining.
3) Seminars on various topics as per curriculum.
4) Responsible for the Diagnostic Microbiology, Serology and Mycobacteriology laboratories on rotation.
5) University examiner for BSc Nursing and BSc MLT, Medical Microbiology.
