Manage client-side (Cyprus Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works) commercial aspects for a €10 mil. design and build Mental Health Centre Project. Lead contract compliance, cost management, interim payments, change management, claims resolution, correspondences, and stakeholder reporting.
Provide freelance pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services, optimizing project costs, contracts, and legal compliance for construction clients. Ensure budget adherence, enhancing project delivery and profitability.
• Lead commercial/contractual aspects across multiple construction projects in +4 countries (UAE, Qatar, Albania, Philippines);
• Negotiate contract terms and ensure adherence to contract at pre and post contract/construction phase by all parties;
• Provide day-to-day management and oversight of the contracts and support the delivery of construction;
• Manage commercial risks and returns across the contracts and develop mechanisms to improve profitability;
• Ensure that contract/commercial standards, procedures and processes are applied across all activities within the business;
• Provide guidance and support on procurement strategies;
• Prepare, manage, and negotiate disputes from initiation to resolution.
• Prepare delay notices and claims for extension of time and additional costs associated to the Main Contract across diverse disciplines (Structural, Finishes, MEP, Special Systems) of the AED 18 billion MTB Project;
• Identify areas of contract risks, offers alternatives for the management of such risks;
• Develop negotiation strategies for contractual matters.
Responsibilities (Jan 18 to Dec 18)
• Lead the contract administration of the highly complex subcontract finishes packages, encompassing contract reviews, correspondence drafting, advisory support, MoU preparation, claim responses, and guidance to commercial administrators, etc.
• Maintain contractual awareness amongst members of the management team.
• Handles all commercial accountabilities on a marine project of a value of AED 162 million;
• Preparation of Interim Applications and negotiations to get timely certifications;
• Timely issuing of notices required by the contract in respect of variations to the Client;
• Developed subcontract procurement schedules, scoped packages, and prepared Subcontract Agreements
• Lead commercial operations for Sport City station, one of 10 underground stops on the QAR 12 billion Gold Line Metro Project;
• Forecast the total cost of civil and architectural finishes works of Sport City station (QAR 590 million);
• Lead all aspects of Subcontract Administration and supervise the commercial team on site;
• Manage the production of timely and accurate monthly financial reports, forecasts and cash-flow information;
• Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and opportunities;
• Participate as a key member and provide support to the claim’s team in relation to the main Contract.
