Job Profile at Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), Kuwait: -
➢ Conduct and record work place inspection regularly. Records substandard act and substandard condition and issue safety inspection report to the concerned area team leader by memo. Record the daily findings and raise the issues of concern (related to safety) in Monthly safety committee meeting of each level (sectional, divisional and departmental monthly HSE meeting)
➢ Doing regular work permit audit as per KNPC safe work practices (procedure)
➢ Doing HSE internal audit on contractor's safety management.
➢ Being an Area Safety Engineer, coordinate with Team Leader Operation, Section Head Operation & Supervisors of the operation area for any HSE issues
➢ Conducting and imparting safety training to the KNPC employees and contractor's employees. Monthly safety training schedule preparation and follow up for training and maintaining of safety training data.
➢ Preparation of risk assessment with operation and maintenance personnel.
➢ Conducting ERP drill monthly at the site and compiling the report.
➢ Coordinating the JSI (Joint safety inspection) audit at the refinery with other safety engineers from other refineries (Mina Al-Ahmadi & Shuiba) and participating the JSI audit. Preparation of JSI audit report.
➢ System Administration of IIRS (Incident Investigation Reporting System) & HSE Improvement System. Regular data monitoring and follow up for closing the incident in the system. Weekly and monthly report preparation for accident/incident statistics (LWC/RWC, MTC, FAC & Near miss data)
➢ Incident Investigation of any incidents in the refinery.
➢ Shutdown coverage and witnessing the gas test for first confined space entry.
➢ Documentation and drawing review for PMR (Plant modification request)

➢ Conduct and record work place inspection regularly. Records unsafe act and unsafe condition and report immediately to the EIL. Record the daily findings and raise the issues of concern (related to safety) in safety committee meeting.
➢ Ensuring the testing & third party certification of all lifting tools and tackles like crane, hydra which are being used in the project site.
➢ Organizing Fire & Safety Training in & around Plant area to promote HSE awareness
➢ Conduct job safety analysis of various critical jobs in the project and assist EIL to prepare JSA.
➢ Follow up for completion of installation of various fire protection systems as per NFPA & OISD and other fire protection system standards.
➢ Ensure compliance with statutory and HSE requirement.
➢ Participate actively in weekly and monthly safety meeting with EIL and other contractors to close the minutes of the meetings.
➢ Drafting and preparing new work permit system for BORL refinery.
➢ Preparation of booklet on Regulations of fire and safety in BORL refinery.
➢ Preparation of Onsite emergency Management Plan of BORL refinery.
➢ Review and updating of MSDS of various hazardous materials in the refinery.
➢ Conducting and imparting fire & safety induction training to all new joiners.
➢ Conducting the regular safety committee meeting and follow up for the compliance.
➢ Procurement and control of inventory of PPEs
➢ Incident investigation of all accidents / incidents in the refinery in project stage. Assist EIL in incident investigation thoroughly.

➢ Preparation of monthly report on Fire and safety management systems and updating management with fire & safety related issues.
➢ Preparing of standards maintenance procedure of all fire & safety equipment.
➢ Preparing Fire/Emergencies Reports, Fire statistics, Reportable and Non-reportable
injuries and accidents and keeping their records.
➢ Compiling of Health Safety and Environment Policy of the organization
➢ Periodic Inspection and maintenance of fire protection systems.
➢ Periodic inspection and maintenance of fire vehicles.
➢ Checking and ensuring the mechanical completion of fire protection systems at plants and tankage areas as per standards like OISD and NFPA.
