Job Function:
• Provide process technical support for Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU), Amine Recovery Unit (ARU), beside Crude Distillation (CDU).
• Supporting major turnaround activities beside reviewing startup procedures until normalize plant operation. (Short term contract)
The main Job Duties are:
• Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
• Lead risk assessment activities for Refinery process units.
• Daily monitoring of plant condition to keep stable and safe plant operation, including monitoring each critical operating parameters and site visiting to check actual facility conditions.
• providing necessary recommendations and instructions to normalize the operating conditions.
• Conduct and lead trouble shooting activity cooperating with concerned parties.
• Study operation optimization, energy conservation and cost reduction, and take necessary actions to implement them.
• Review Chemical consumption for the process units and provide recommendations to optimize the consumption.
• Provide process technical support for Management of Changes (MOC).
• Team leader for root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve the chronic problems for process units of the Refinery and provide recommendations to avoid reoccurrence of it
• Conduct Redo-Hazop and Hazop revalidation study for Refinery process units and ensure the implementation of the Hazop recommendations to bring the risk rating to insignificant risk.

The Main Duties are:

· Provide technical support to de-oiling/ produced water/ process water/ wastewater treatment for the oil and gas industry.

· Provide technical support to Olefins- (steam cracker plants) to improve quenching system through improving the process water quality to maintain steam to hydrocarbon ratio required for thermal cracking process.

· Communicate with potential customers such as (Petrochemical and Oil Refinery plant) to provide them technical solution related to environmental issues.

-Review the feasibility study for the new projects and business case and evaluate the economic indicators for the project.

· Develop mass balance and process flow diagrams (PFDs) and Process Instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)

· Provide equipment sizing calculation.

· Conduct Risk Assessment activity provide recommendations to mitigate the risk.

Provide process support for Hazop study for new projects.

· Utilize process simulation software (ASPEN HYSYS) for process optimization purposes.

The main duties are:
• Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
• Lead risk assessment activities for Refinery process units.
• Lead process hazard analysis (PHA) for process unit and for new projects.
• Conduct Redo-Hazop and Hazop revalidation for Refinery process units and ensure the implementation of the Hazop recommendations to bring the risk rating to insignificant risk.
• Review with technical team the EHSS critical equipment list
• Provide technical support for PSSR activity.
• Review material and energy balances for Refinery process units, and provide recommendations to reduce the overall losses.
• Review Chemical consumption for Delayed Coker and Crude Distillation units and provide recommendations to optimize the consumption.
• Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of products.
• Maintain and develop the company’s operational data historian systems and tools for each plant to access and analyze current and historical operational process data.
• Team leader for root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve the chronic problems for process units of the Refinery and provide recommendations to avoid reoccurrence of it
• Provide process technical support for Management of Changes (MOC).
• Review feasibility study of the new projects, and business case and evaluate the economic indicators for the project
• To ensure proper division of work & responsibility among the process engineers, providing proper guidance & integration of work done, ensuring good, positive & healthy working nature among the team of engineers to ensure optimum productivity & efficiency
• Prepare and Provide on job training for new Engineers and Operators and familiar with Competency Based Program.

• Provide technical support to operation team in daily run & maintain meeting.
• Prepare and review plant mass and energy balances.
• Optimize water, energy and chemical consumption, reviewing water and steam quality through providing recommendation and follow up actions.
• Checking and reviewing catalyst activity and selectivity.
• Provide technical support to Risk Assessment activities.
• Applying process simulation program (HYSYS) for process optimization.
• Provide technical support for the root cause analysis for outstanding activities (RCAs) in the plant.
• Checking, reviewing and provide technical support for any modification in the plant in order to increase and maintain the plant performance and to reduce the maintenance cost.

• Provide technical training for oil & gas industry (Process & Operation) for upstream & downstream fileds (for Operators/Senior Operators and Process Engineers) (our clients such as (Saudi Aramco- Schlumberger- Petro-chemicals companies in Saudi Arabia).
• Design, test and implement a range of training programs related to specific area of expertise.
• Teach process theory and practices to nominated trainees/employees both in workplace and off the job situations.
• Train the existing company employees in specific plant related areas to enhance the job performance.
• Train fresh trainees and existing employees to acquire the necessary knowledge, attitude and skill to work as process technicians / operators in various industries, adopting all safety standards.
• Impart the knowledge and skill for employees to further enhance their technical competency and prepare them to do higher level courses.
• Conduct periodical short courses on specific plant related topics to improve and update the skill levels of operators and senior operators.
• Run hands on skill courses for trainees under personal career development program in the process operation area.
• Assist in the development of training and assessment materials and the preparation of syllabi. Assess, evaluate and report on trainees|| progress and act as course Instructor.

•Area Process Engineer(Delayed Coking & Crude Distillation Units) provide process technical expertise and services focused on technical support- troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization - for operations to achieve optimum unit performance while maintaining and complying with safety and environmental standards. Also responsible for small process engineering designs and support for project development within the area teams.

- The main duties are:

•Optimize plant operation and provide technical support to OME team.
•Monitoring/evaluating unit (Delayed Coker and Crude Distillation) performance and maintaining effective monitoring reports.
•Material and energy balances calculations.
•Providing detailed process specifications and maintaining P&ID's and equipment data sheets.
•Applying process simulation program (Petro-Sim, HYSYS) for process optimization.
•Corrosion & Fouling monitoring (mainly over head system of the atmospheric distillation towers).
•Chemical injection monitoring & optimization.
•Chemical selection and optimization, conduct lab trial test, field trial test for new chemical application, performance monitoring (i.e. Refinery and oil fields chemicals such as (emulsion breaker, anti fouling, anti scale, corrosion inhibitor, neutralizer, anti coking, anti foaming…), contacted famous chemical, catalyst vendors such as (NALCO, Champion technologies, Axens, France…) .
•Troubleshooting operational and process quality problems.
•Developing solutions for unit optimization, study new ideas and innovative technologies to enhance plant operation, reliability, profitability or performance.
•Participate in execution and planning of unit turnarounds.
•Responsible from the organization, formulation, propagation and implementation of operation regulation, startup, and shutdown schemes, process technical card, Supervise and urge production staff for all operation.
•Take part in commission&startup&acceptance of new unit.
•Responsible of communication with third party inside and outside as technical desk for the refinery.
•Completing process hazard analysis and process safety management (PSM) requirements, including the completion of action items.
•Providing guidance to operations consistent with environmental and operational requirements.
•Ability to climb ladders, towers and wear Personal Protective Equipment.

1. Prepares daily performance summaries to monitor plant performance. Includes studying laboratory test reports, standard log sheets and other daily operating activities reports and compiling information for supervisor’s review. Highlights abnormalities and advises supervisor on corrective actions for discussions.

3. Check chemical injection dosing and optimize the consumption.
4. Issue request for maintenance work.
