Tarajam is a leading translation and linguists service provider having offices in the region and Europe. It was established in 2009 providing localization and translation services to local and global clients. Also, Tarjama added new business lines including a global marketplace linguistics solution and developing software translation systems utilizing machine translation and AI technologies. The expansion required the restructuring of Tarjama companies and applying new enterprise solutions including SAP Business One and a new specialized billing system. My role is to establish a proper and dynamic finance team to accommodate the expansion of our business.
Izzat Marji Group is a leading market leader specialized in Plumbing, Cooling & Heating, Sanitary, Fixing & Power tools, and PV equipment and solutions. Initial business need is to stabilize and start utilizing the newly implemented Microsoft AX ERP system. Also, hire and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department.
Al-Mamlaka TV was initiated by a Royal decree to establish an independent news TV channel directed to the Jordanians in Jordan and abroad. Al-Mamlaka TV was in the final phases of preparations before launch. Scope of my work covers the following:-
• Establishing the Accounting and Finance department and overseeing all aspects
• Managing the relationship with different governmental agencies including the Ministry of Finance to secure required funding
• Responsible for all Procurement functions for all contracts and services, adhere to the governmental policies and procedures, and lead the negotiations with suppliers
• Managing and dealing with outside consultants including lawyers, insurance consultant, and tax consultant
• Implementing (Microsoft Dynamics GP) ERP system covering the GL, AP, Cash, and Supply Chain
Teeba is a leading industrial company owned by Almarai and PepsiCo. Teeba is licensed to produce Dairy and Juice products under Teeba, Almarai and Tropicana brands. It has a leading market share in many products in the Jordanian market and export to neighboring countries with annual turnover of US$ 80m served by 900 employees. Teeba has its own manufacturing, farms, logistics and distribution facilities. I focused on:-
• Stabilizing and improving the Finance Department by conducting gap analysis study, review the Finance Org Structure, hiring needed positions, and overall enhancement of relation with other departments.
• Enhancing budgeting and business planning process & accuracy. Reviewing the costing methodology to reflect the actual product cost.
• Placing proper cost controls for better efficiency and optimizations.
• Manage overall cash-flows including bank facilities, payments, collections, and balance sheet items review.
• As an acting CEO, we managed to achieve record sales and margin numbers during the 3rd quarter 2015 and improve KPI’s across Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
• Build 2016 Budget with clear steps to achieve higher sales growth with efficient costs.
• Achieve fundamental changes in companies culture and atmosphere.
NIIC is a US$ 145m investment specialized in the manufacturing of white goods including Washing Machines, Air conditions & Refrigerators with a target to be a major player in the MENA region. There was no clear strategic plan to relaunch the business which impacted any achievements for the set goals.
Batelco Jordan is a leading internet service provider providing residential and commercial solutions. Beside managing the core business, Finance department supported the launch of prepaid calling card service by managing the logistics and controlling the stock and distribution and overall reconciliations. Also, we established a separate unit under finance for credit and collection which managed to reduce bad debt and improved the AR turnover ratio.
wi-tribe Jordan is a subsidiary of Qatar Telecom, obtained the WiMax license in 2007 to provide internet services. I was part of the launch team who successfully launched the first successful Wimax operation in June 2008 to support 22k customers. We focused on:-
•Building a finance team of 13 members covering accounting, cash management, procurement, logistics, financial reporting & analysis, and credit & collection.
•Putting in place a complete set of processes, procedures and establishing internal controls.
•Business planning, budgeting and forecasting were essential tools to support the strategic decisions and goal setting to achieve company’s KPIs.
•Achieving steady growth and KPI’s enhancements in number of customers, revenues, profitability, service satisfaction and collection.
Siniora is a major manufacturer and distributor of processed meat (Mortadella) in Jordan. The need for setting up a professional accounting department and apply the company standards and procedures to accommodate to the growth in operations has urged the company to create the Financial Controller position. I lead the project of successful implementation for a comprehensive ERP solution covering accounting, cash management, warehousing, production, distribution, reporting.
I have lead an ERP implementation project for a tobacco manufacturer company in Jordan for Gauloise and Gitanes brands. Also, I joined a newly established mining company to recommend an ERP system, establishing the warehouses and logistics functions, and to manage the financing from local and international banks. I also have traveled to the United States to apply and obtain the US citizenship.
Group Chief Accountant for a $100M turnover Holding Company with 10 subsidiaries including trading, manufacturing, and service companies. I participated in the standardizationproject for processes, procedures, accounting and reporting manuals. Proper and timely consolidation and analysis were achieved to better provide the management with timely, accurate and specific data for planning and decision making.
Set up the finance department for a newly established ready-mix concrete company. Prepared budgets and forecasts along with profitability analysis. We expanded our operation to three factories in three years. Performed analytical studies, provided monthly financial statements to the head office. Liaison with internal and external auditors, cash management, and supervised all the daily activities of the department including HR and Admin functions.
Review of daily cash and journal vouchers, cash management, inter-company and bank reconciliation. Preparation of management unit sales and performance reports in comparison with budgets and forecasts.
