Handpicked to join the business as CIO Advisor, guiding the business through major IT organization changes. The outsourcing of the whole IT department to an external ITO, a BYOD policy, and the adoption of a SOC with no disruption to systems, network or services has been a key priority. Remit includes supplier evaluation/selection, contract negotiation, migration planning and handover. The role operates as the interface between business and technical stakeholders, providing thought leadership and challenging constructively as needed.
• Giving the business scope for huge cost savings, security, resiliency and efficiencies as advisor for the outsourcing of the whole IT department to an external ITO and the introduction of a new cyber security partner along with new technologies such as a NGAV+EDR and a dedicated SIEM. This while improving the overall security policies and processes.
• Deploying a new service desk model to centralise all IT requests towards the external ITO, with the redesign of the onsite technical support model to deliver a best-in-class service.
• A new BYOD policy in substitution of the old business mobiles using Miradore as MDM.
Major part in the merge of a new company, starting with a lift and shift approach of the current IT systems, applications and data on AWS cloud. Spearheaded Vodafone's BSS Big Data program, providing strong leadership and direction to a matrix team based in multiple countries. Delivered weekly project status reports and managed escalations on a global basis to achieve objectives on-time.
• Deployed the first Vodafone Global Big Data infrastructure based on Cloudera Hadoop technology stack and other leading solutions along with its first business use cases.
Telecommunications Sector
At the forefront of the OTT initiative, with full accountability for program governance, strategy definition, status reporting and escalation management. Led a team of 20, incorporating coaching and guidance. Optimized supplier relationships and drove consensus across both business and technical stakeholders up to Board level.
• Accountable for the launch of a new strategic product. Advanced business goals by delivering the Sky Deutschland proprietary applications on a custom-made Roku Box, achieving the primary KPI of rapid time-to-market.
• Devised and implemented the first OTT program management governance, processes and tools while maximizing the value generated for the business from supplier relationships.
Oversaw the centralization of the IT, identity (IAM), TLC and security services program, transferring infrastructure, applications and services from global branches to the Italian HQ. Scope included infrastructure/application assessments, gap/impact analysis, strategy setting, process optimization, supplier selection, risk management and contract/license reviews.

Onboarded to manage a portfolio of up to 60 concurrent outsourced BSS projects with an annual budget of up to €13M. Accountable for full lifecycle project delivery. Defined and deployed SLA and OLA for ITSM.
