Offshore FPSO Control Room Operator
Control Room operation of control of Subsea Gas Wells, Oil Wells, Water Injection Wells, Gas and Crude Oil Separation, Pig launching and Pig Receiving. ( Piggy operation of Service Line and Production Line of the Well ) and 3-phase separation process and Utility Unit, utilizing a Yogowana DCS system ( Distribution Control System - SCADA ) and independent ESD ( Fire & Gas Emergency Shutdown ) system control panel. The operation of associated Power Generation, HVAC, Plant / Instrument Air Comp, Fresh Water Maker packages and discharged of treated Produced Water Overboard, Reading Mechanical /Process/ISO P& ID Drawings.
Co-ordinate maintenance and projects in plant activities, shutdowns, commissioning, improvement and extension projects whilst maintaining maximum plant availability.
• Optimization of plant, lab analyses and faultfinding ( trouble shooting ) to ensure product is always on specfication.
Evaluate daily production estimates to identify production shortfalls that may be related to equipment problems, leaks or spills, theft, or changing well conditions.
Select, organize, motivate and develop Senior Production Operators to ensure a competent and satisfied workforce. Assist in the planning and preparation of individual objectives and the annual review and assessment of subordinates. Good relationship with Maintenance Department.
Co-ordinate of PTW system that insured all personnel’s safety while working on equipment.
Issuing of permits ensuring adherence to Safety and Emergency procedures.
Emergency responds duties & Make decisions, plant and personnel related.
Compiling and assisting with daily production reports and procedures.
Proper handover at the end of shift rota and compiling of handover for back to back shift crew.
Attend daily OIM meetings to prepare maintenance to be carried out the following day.
Attend HAZOP meetings, toolbox talks and risk assessments meetings.
• Co-ordinate on a day-to-day basis of production and maintenance activities on board the FA Platform. This demands strict adherence to the FA Platform procedures and safety regulation and comprehensive permit to work system.
Liaise with the Maintenance department on forward planning of scheduled and non-scheduled shutdowns.
Liaise with onshore support groups and pipeline users.
Ensure production demands are met and maintained and minimization downtown.
Constantly investigating methods to reduce/maintain costs.
Manage some appropriate administrative duties of the shift to fulfil the requirements of the Production Department.
My position currently is Offshore Production Supervisor and Lead / Senior Production Control Room Operator ( Technician ) ( since 2002 until 2013 ).
I was the Shutdown Co-ordinator in 2009 and 2013, managing all work permits, vessel internal repairs, box up of vessels and commissioning and start up of plant. I have 25 years experience in Oil and Gas industry. (operation of various Hydrocarbon processing units: from Offshore installation to Gas separation to Refinery units)
Duties included:
• Production Supervisor on Offshore Platform Installation.

The operation of associated Refrigeration units as well as Power Generation, HVAC, Plant / Instrument Air Comp, Fresh Water Maker packages and discharged of treated produced water, Reading Mechanical /Process/ISO P& ID Drawings.

• 25 Years combined experience in the operation of various Hydrocarbon processing units located offshore ( FPSO / Offshore / Onshore Refinery, Production Platform, Remote Operated Production Buoy ). Supervisor High Performance Course Current Survival/ Fire Fighting and First Aid certificates. Grade 12 or High School Senior Certificates / Diploma. Advance Plant Operation Supervisory Courses In house training courses in first line supervisor maintenance, safety and simulator training. Off job training, Solar Mars gas turbine operation and maintenance. Off job training, Subsea wells and control systems. Functional in Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Windows and SAP R3 maintenance schedule. Computer skills including spreadsheet, e-mail, and word processing applications Reading of Mechanical Flow Diagram ( MFD ) and P&ID drawing, Pipe Iso - drawing. ESD Cause and Effect ( C&E ) Charts.
