900 MWe combined cycle power plant (3GT+1ST), Techgen, Mexico - Balance of Plant (EPC), 50, 000 Mhrs. Power island by GE (EPC). Total project value approx. $ 1.0 billion.
LNG re-gasification terminal, 2 x 190, 000 M3 TANK, 10 BCM/Year, Dunkerque LNG, France - (EPC LSTK), 52, 000 Mhrs.
Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant, Conventional Island (Unit 3 & 4) and Auxiliary Nuclear Systems, Slovakia - Enel (Slovenske Elektrarne) - (Engineering), 120, 000 Mhrs.

Key accomplishments:

 Final handover audit report closure of Yanbu PDS, SPPID & In-tools databases
The activity involved resolution of errors/inconsistencies in PDS database before the final
handover to the client. It involved all the engineering disciplines and around 2000 open points with many points involving more than one discipline. Initially there was no leader appointed for this activity and all the engineering disciplines were working in isolation without any interfacing and real time progress monitoring which resulted in a lot of chaos and vague accountability.
I created a real time progress monitoring spreadsheet (shared by all the engineering disciplines) with clear remarks/actions against each point. With this we were able to close this activity within a very challenging schedule which was initially considered as unrealistic.
 I created a document based real time progress monitoring system which enabled project engineer/lead engineer to review where the documents were stuck up. This helped us to take proactive measures to mitigate the associated risks.
 Enel, Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant (3D PDMS)
For each plant building, different coordinate systems (with different orientations) were followed by the client, with specific requirement of locating the load points (insert plates) from the nearest grid. There were more than 11000 load points.
Since PDMS model and setup was received from the Client, customization of coordinate system was not possible. This forced the users to convert the coordinates manually as per client requirement which created a risk of human error and considerably slowed down the work process. I created an MS Excel spreadsheet which used report from the 3D PDMS model as an input and directly converted the coordinates to the format requested by the client by using predefined formulae. This totally eliminated the possibility of human error and the requirement of
rechecking coordinate values which resulted in faster turnaround and resultant saving more than 1000 man hours.

Interface management between engineering disciplines, vendors and subcontractors.
Client/process licensor/vendor liaison and review of client/process licenser/vendor documentation for technical acceptability.

Key accomplishments:

 I designed a customized report which resulted in 90% reduction in the time required for checking of Piping MTO for proposals, this was implemented in all the future proposals as well.
 As a piping lead engineer I successfully led teams of layout designers and engineers, stress engineers, support specialist, material engineers etc. for various proposals and projects.
 In Techint Milan office I worked on UMG methanol FEED, I was responsible for engineering coordination between Techint Milan and Mumbai office for this project. Also for Yanbu project in Milan, I was responsible for basic piping studies of jacketed liquid Sulphur lines to finalize the pastillator building layout arrangement.

Key accomplishments:

 I prepared piping studies for the Plot Determining (Process & Stress Critical) lines in Ammonia plant for Jose Fertilizers, Venezuela FEED project. This is very critical for correct development of overall plot plan to avoid major changes during the detailed engineering phase which can lead to major impact on cost and schedule of the project.
 I led a team of engineers and designers for the activity of Civil/Structural information coordination on Shah Gas proposal. This involved coordination of the information that was clearly indicated in the documents/drawings as well as identification of requirement of the auxiliary structures/access platforms that were not shown in the documents/drawings and to provide the associated information to the Civil/Structural department. This was critical for cost estimation purpose.

Key accomplishments:

 As lead piping engineer with Jacobs Manchester office, I successfully completed Novartis Grimsby B150 SPP 100 Expansion project (total project value £ 150 million).
This project won “Joseph J. Jacobs Master Builder Award” (an internal program that recognizes the best of the best among Jacobs projects all over the world) for year 2008, competing with more than 2000 other projects from various Jacobs offices. This project was completed from concept to production of first batch within 17 months after start of the initial design versus a standard schedule duration of 26 months. Jacobs earned all the incentives for schedule adherence and
helped in total capital cost saving of £ 2.27 million.

Worked at site design office of WorleyParsons group (deputed to PDO - Petroleum Development Oman, Fahud) in North Oman onshore oil and gas fields.

Key accomplishments:

 I independently prepared design package for Replacement of 24”/20” on plot piping connected to
6 gigantic floating roof dehydration tanks \[capacity 8586 m3 (each) and size 28 m dia. x 14 m ht.\] with new internally FBE coated piping at the Main Line Pumping Station (MLPS) Fahud with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) strategy of phase wise shut down, construction feasibility, FBE coating vendor limitations and layout constraint within a tight schedule. MLPS is critically important for operation of entire Fahud oil-field. It covers a total land area of 11, 580 km2 and consists of two operating oil fields and 240 producing wells. The oil-field produces on average 14, 670 m3/d of crude oil and 5, 007, 000 Sm3 /d of associated gas. The oil-field accounts for about 10.9 % of PDO's total crude oil production.

Design of oil & gas piping - on plot (integrity) and off-plot (flow line) including preparation of construction scope of work, document control index, key plans, equipment layouts, piping layouts, piping isometrics with B.O.M. as per PDO standards.

 Worked at Jacobs Engineering's Houston USA office on Nova BEAM project at Nova Bayport plant for the Pre-TAR site activities in Ethyl Benzene & Styrene Monomer plants.
 Worked as Team Leader for Bulk MTO (Valves & SM Items) activity for MHI SMAG-II (MMA)
project.
I conceptualized and architected a software for preparation of valve and piping specialty item MTO. With this software we successfully handled MTO of more than 13500 valves of various types with maximum size up to 64” and around 3000 piping specialty items. This software was developed in just 5 days to overcome a seemingly impossible target. It saved a rework of around 2100 man hours.
The development team consisted of just two members wherein I worked as the technical expert defining the concept, requirements, program structure, database structure and functioning/logic of the software and a software programmer who developed the required software code, front end and the database.
 Successfully completed detail engineering of the following projects for BP Grangemouth, Green Oil Extraction Plant and Jetty piping with hose handling arrangement.

This project involved preparation of 550 piping GA drawings. This project was developed entirely in AutoCAD 2D.
 I developed a customized menu for AutoCAD which enabled insertion of piping symbols for drawing piping layouts. This was used for KNPC refinery project and our client Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding used this customized menu in MES Japan office as well. This menu helped to considerably speed up the piping drafting activity.
