Procurement & Distribution Specialist ( Logistics ) -handling imports, exports, cross trade & direct orders by air, sea and road freight.
• Managing logistics operations for chemicals pertaining to pharma, personal care, oil and gas, food products & construction industries.
• Communicate with suppliers / shipper, vendor management, freight forwarders to ensure the most cost efficient method is chosen ensuring quality control and efficiency.
• Manage logistics, supply chain operations and contracts with Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider to ensure the effective delivery.
• Ensure effective collaboration with the Procurement Team, at order and process level.
• Work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, to deliver aligned and coherent end to end supply chain services and strengthen partnerships
• Provide customer service and suitable logistics advice to various departments like in house sales, procurement and customer /client's logistics divisions.
• Ensure compliance to all logistics terms and conditions both at origin and destination ports as well as company procedures are followed.
• Ensure documentation requirements are strictly adhered to obtain legal and government approvals.
• Procurement and reception of materials into stock.
• Costing shipments and taking good into stock adding the weighted landing cost.
• Maintaining KPI reports, directly reporting to head of Logistics and Supply chain in the company.
• Handles both procurement ( from Europe & Middle East ) and distribution of chemicals to GCC and African regions.
• Specialist in moving Liquid Cargo Bulk ( Chemicals ) both in tankers and containers.
• Ensure all set parameters of customer service & operational aspects pertaining each Key Account customer is adhered to.
• Contract renewal, new business targets, pricing and ensuring commitments to volumes are met (with proactive interventions in the event of deviation from agreements, and renegotiations thereafter, where necessary)
• Ensure that agreed annualized budgets are translated into monthly and quarterly targets, with associated action plans, performance dashboards, to ensure performance tracking and thus facilitating remedial actions where necessary.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of a client’s brands and products.
• Organising weekly team meetings with staff and senior managers.
• Involved in the day to day customer service & operational requirements of clients.
• Manage the relationship with Service Owners and key internal stakeholders, to
ensure services are provided on time and according to set quality standards
• Address client concerns and ensure the issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Maintaining contact with clients - giving them regular updates.
• Streamline and ensure all import and export paperwork is in order and there are no bottlenecks faced during the course of a shipment. ( Airfreight, Seafreight and Roadfreight )
• Attend client meetings, participate in team building and sales training events.
• Manage entire Middle East traffic for the client 3M Gulf (Import and Drop shipments, by Air as well as Ocean) from various Origins located in South America, USA and Europe.
• Ensure accurate communication with Origins and the client, thereby ensuring smooth operation.
•Prepare monthly Key Performance Indicator Reports ( KPI ) for the client. Attending weekly meeting with the client to review and explore possibilities to improve process flow.
• Work in tandem with destination stations to ensure end user service delight.
• Managed a team of 12 call centre agents ( Key accounts )
• Informing customers about their shipment and where and when they have to pick them up, arrange deliveries if requested.
• Helping consignees and shippers track their shipment and inform them about the current status of their shipment.
• Assigning work to the team at the start of each shift, keeping track of their daily and monthly performance, preparing annual leave roster
• Assisting and clarifying customer queries.
• Manifest AWBs and maintain clear records.
• Consistently delivered results within individual scope of work on time, on budget with minimum errors.
