Roles and responsibilities;
• Oversee the coastal and terrestrial ecosystem against stress during
construction
• Conducting and supervision of Environmental Monitoring activities
• Actively participate within the work of the Health, Safety &Environment
department, contributing to discussions, effectively communicating
information to and from the department, acting as the source of
authority and expertise on environmental management matters,
• Implementing CEMP and providing guidance on local GAMEP
Environmental regulations.
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly environmental reports
• Preparing environmental risk assessments for project tasks
• Generating environmental action plans for any new issue raised that is
not covered in the CEMP
• Running monitoring programs for air quality, noise, marine water and
weather, and preparing the related charts and reports which can be
presentable to management and client representatives
• Lead the action plan against Covid19 prevention in the project site and
in the man camp
• Daily inspection of camp according to Covid19 checklist and rectifying
any discrepancies.
• Inspection of batching plant for environmental Compliance
• Plan, coordinate and administration of short- and long-term plans for the
environmental program, monitor progress, assure adherence and
evaluate performance.
• Develop and deliver presentations on trend and training basis on
different topics like Construction projects environmental management, General environmental inductions, marine and terrestrial spill
response, safe refueling practices, General waste management, Food
waste management, Waste segregation, Environment friendly
machinery/equipment maintenance, POL/chemical spill awareness,
storage of chemicals, Pollution prevention etc.
• Responsible for doing regular work site inspections and audits to bring
any environmental issues up to field management for achieving
maximum environmental compliance.
• Established sampling and analysis procedures; compiling analyzing and
evaluating the generated data and preparing required outlines.
• Conducting inspections & observations of project sites to establish dust
generation and odor migration severity and ensuring that the
application Experienced in marine-dredging construction
environmental compliance
• Conduct and direct activities to identify potential Terrestrial and marine
environmental threats to sea water, seagrass, mangroves, corals,
migratory birds, mammals, turtles and develop environmental action
plans to correct any non-compliance issues and work with operations
and management for implementation.
• Assist in house marine biologists regarding mammal
identification/stranding, macro benthos survey, and seagrass
monitoring, demarcation of turtles’ nests, migratory birds’ eggs etc.
• Assist the HSE team in the investigation and reporting of all accidents,
incidents and near misses and making sure of its closing out.
• Performing Ecological survey before starting any activity on site.
• Preparing mapping report for Ecological survey, to ensure/Identify the
existing of flora and fauna in the area.
• Preparing Pre-commencement checklist for the ecological survey and
submit (mapping report & pre-commencement checklist) to the client
representative for inspection and approval.
• Maintaining different plan on daily basis like (black smoke emitter
tracker plan, Spill plan, air quality plan, noise monitoring plan, turtles
monitoring plan, housekeeping plan, shoreline monitoring plan and
waste segregation monitoring plan.
