• Developing department objectives and to ensure that the objectives are in line with the strategic direction of the College.
• Assists to manage the daily operation of the Purchasing & inventory team and the Purchases assigned to the team to ensure that the material and service requirements of AU are met in a timely, efficient, effective, and ethical manner. Provide oversight of my team’s purchases and ensure that they are in compliance with the government and University procurement policies and procedures.
• Monitor regularly the performance of the department to ensure that the desired focus is maintained, and operational efficiency enhanced.

• Assist in the development of the purchasing & inventory policies and procedures for the implementation of standards that represent best purchasing & inventory methods while conforming to regulations and laws governing the institution
• Mentor AU community to provide direction as it relates to procurement policies and procedures, e.g. procurement options, best purchasing & inventory methods, bidding requirements, ethical requirements, appropriate product/service/vendor evaluation, lease vs. buy decisions, and problem resolution.

Ensure while executing all assigned purchases that they are budgeted as advised by finance, within approved signature authority guidelines and all quotations & relevant documentations are accurate, current and complete, in a centralized environment.
• Maintain excellent working relationships with all departments at their level and the internal suppliers through understanding their purpose and objectives.
• Promote and maintain the good name of AU while conducting business in an ethical and professional manner to ensure avoidance of all actual and potential conflicts of interest.
• Work with all AU members to ensure that material, service, and contractual requirements are met in a timely manner. This may include planning sessions designed to educate customers about procurement cycles, lead times and purchasing & inventory requirements within the overall business process of acquisition of goods or services, and minimization of response time while ensuring needs are met in a timely, satisfactory, and cost-effective manner.
• Communicate with department for detailed specifications pertaining their purchase requests.
• Work closely with agencies and local Newspapers En/Ar to publish Ads and Press Release in coordination with Marketing and Public Relations departments.
• Organize and run events from A to Z either with a prepared checklist or on emergency basis.
• A committee member in Graduation Ceremony and MC as well.
• Strong relationship with Kuwait agencies and local newspapers.
• Assist within authority given, serve as the primary resource for vendors and AU members as necessary to interpret policies and procedures, assessing client needs and providing dispute resolution when necessary.
• Assist in evaluate products and services offered by existing and prospective vendors. Counsel vendors as needed regarding the AU’s procurement policies and procedures, vendor performance requirements and product performance expectations.

• Actively participate in all aspects of AU’s Purchasing & inventory team, including on-going identification and development of contracting opportunities, communication with membership regarding use of existing contracts, collaboration of future needs and assistance with resolution of vendor issues.
