• Conduct assessment centers, develop Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and assess progress for all employees
• Support, coach and provide employees and managers with professional advice on Human Resource issues, and ensure that Human Resource policies and practices are properly implemented
• Initiate and maintain an open communication channel with employees and managers; provide consultancy services to Human Resources Manager, Brand Manager and Country Manager when employees are promoted
• Perform field visits to stores on regular basis and address Human Resource issues with managers by coaching and providing advice on areas of improvement
• Review HR policies and procedures and recommend enhancements to the Group Learning & Development Department
• Supervise the performance appraisal process by ensuring proper implementation of the system, advising managers, and providing coaching sessions when necessary
• Conduct seasonal studies on different Human Resource metrics such as company turnover, probationary success, disciplinary actions, promotional rates and employee satisfaction survey; generate and analyze related reports and suggest action plans accordingly (using Oracle HRMS)
• Implement and maintain Disciplinary action Matrix in line with applicable policies and procedures and labor law
• Conduct Exit Interviews for leavers; generate and analyze reports related to separation
• Assist in the identification of high potential employees in order to create and manage pool of talent, and coordinate with the Training & Development department for their development needs
• Payroll generation, comission, basic and allowances
• Controlling and issuing company benefits: medical insurance, staff discount and uniform
• HR letters (salary transfer, salary certificates, ..)
• Setting headcount and store budgets
• Bonus calculation based on target sales, EBITDA, Mystery shopper and managers' working hours
• End of service settlements - indemnity calculation, annual leaves, ettc
Controlling staff attendance through validating working hours and entering leave requests
• Managing the stores in Kuwait: merchandising, stock taking, supervising cash counter, managing staff and store manager, uploading shipments onto POS, etc.
• Back-Office work for Kuwait operations: making and recording payments, recording sales, preparing salaries, sending weekly reports, proposing sale, monitoring goods movement for liquidation, etc.
• Managing the warehouse in Kuwait: receiving shipments, supervising the warehouse and goods, stock taking, making stock transfers, etc.
• In UAE: in charge of monitoring goods movement, reporting them, slashing prices and coordinating with Kuwait operations.
My role had two Parts,
A. Adminitsrative work: assissting staff in their daily work from recieving a customer application to processing it and then issuing an insurance policy. My tasks were:
1. Entering customer data on the system
2. Opening file for each customer and putting their information on it
3. Writing and sending reminder letters to customers
B. Project: the project was designed to create a new process to be followed in receiving the application to processing it. My tasks were:
1. Gathering all information on both processes old and new
2. Preparing soft copy flowcharts for each process
3. Preparing real-life flowchart for the new process to hang it in the staff room
4. Giving a presentation to top management at the end of my intern about everything I learnt and about the project.
Temp employee in E-branding and internal communications Department, doing the following:
1. Making sure the website was updated: sending latest photos, events, letters from CEO, promotions, and soon to the company in-charge so they would update our website.
2. Creating Newsflash using Microsoft Frontpage to send to employees about any event or offer or insturctions.
