Researcher
UAE University
Total years of experience :13 years, 3 Months
In my duties as a Research Assistant I participated in on-going research projects at the Chemical Engineering Department of UAE University. I participated in setting the objectives of research projects, collecting data, designing experiments, setting up the lab and all necessary research environments. I also assisted in writing research proposals and applying for funding.
Lab skills include:
• Wide knowledge of analysis techniques including ICP, Ion Chromatography, TGA, DSC, FTIR
• Adept at choosing appropriate lab equipment and communicating efficiently with suppliers to obtain the necessary equipment
• Able to perform any required chemical analysis for quality control purposes.
Research skills include:
• Adept at finding and analyze research articles to write literature reviews. Able to come up with experimental designs and methodologies, interpret given results and integrate them into publishable papers.
• Capable of coming up with long term R&D plans
•
Worked closely with university students of diverse backgrounds to help them improve their writing skills, which improved my own communication and social skills
Conducted both face-to-face as well as on-line tutorials
● Worked closely under Professor Dr. Ghaleb AlHusseini to help his students with their writing assignments

During the course of my Master's I learned advanced principles in chemical engineering with emphasis on environmental sustainability, and cost effectiveness. Master thesis regarding the Effect of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Treatment on Date Pits for Lead Adsorption of Lead from Aqueous Solutions. This thesis proposes the recycling of agricultural waste to solve environmental problems and produce clean water.
● Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the American University of Sharjah (AUS), January 2014 ● Recipient of the Merit scholarship from AUS ● Passed the NCEES FE exam
During my time at AUS I received my B.S in Chemical Engineering and I passed the NCEES FE Exam. I was also a merit scholar at the university. In this degree program I learned problem solving, engineering design, experimental work, and effective written, verbal, and oral communication.
