I led budgeting & reporting function of the Group with a team of 4 senior professionals managing overall statutory and management reporting, budgeting, audits and corporate finance related activities of the companies.

Achievements / Responsibilities
− Initiated Group Reporting Pack to give panoramic view of 15+ businesses contributing towards consolidated financial performance of the Group against KPIs. It includes achievement against budgets, ratio analysis, working capital deployment review etc.
− Enforced zero based 360-degree budgeting model for the group
− Led SAP S4 Hana FICO Implementation. Modelled hierarchy and population of master data including 20K+ cost centers, fund centers, COA, distribution cycles with development of 20+ reports/dashboards on BI/COPA.
− Conducted business/branch level Operational Performance Reviews with the management.
− Chaired Investment appraisals for strategic as well as operational proposals which finally resulted in onboarding 10 new businesses in a year.
− Achieved reduction of PKR 70M+ per annum in supply chain costs via collaboration with business excellence team on various cost optimization initiatives.
− Designed corporate level “Strategy In Action (SIA)” plan for Pakistan as well Africa business set ups for 5 years; conceptualizing aspirations for the year 2025, prioritizing Must-Win-Battles, setting annual targets and mapping out broad action plans across all functions.

Burque is an MNC with operations across in 3 countries. This group the leading FMCG distributor in Pakistan with over PKR 80B topline while holding a clientele including Nestle, Unilever, Shell, GSK, Shan, LÓreal, SC Johnsons etc.

I lead 3 sub-functions of the organization with 18 members: Credit control team, Claims management team and Schemes teams.

Achievements / Responsibilities
− Introduced credit policy for the group after risk-based profiling of businesses.
− Upgraded authority matrix for the organization including commercial and supply chain operations.
− Accomplished paper less claim submission initiative through a customized automated claim portal resulting in 70%+ claim submission going paperless.
− Counseled digitalization of credit management functionality duly integrated with ERP.
− Brought down receivables against claims by 30% in few months.
− Controlled customer risk management proposing credit terms based on risk-based profiling.
− Planned exception focused credit reviews with the management.

I was selected by the C-level management in his secretariat's Strategic Finance wing for Chef One

Achievements / Responsibilities
− Orchestrated a comprehensive 5 years’ business and financial strategy to set up frozen processed food brand "Chef One". This included a devising a business model with project milestones and timelines, integrating marketing strategy, forecasting monthly cashflows, pay-back period, break even analysis, national and international coverage, DCF and NPV of the project and conducting investment appraisal.
− Devised distribution model for Chef One’s pan-Pakistan coverage in line with aforementioned strategic plan.
− As a business finance partner led cross-functional planning for Chef One amongst teams assuring all the operational decisions are synched with the approved commercial plan
− As a ManCom member, partnered in the SKUs’ finalization and development phase including products sampling, reviewing margins, pricing and costing along with raw material sourcing decisions.
− Presented quarterly business updates and future outlooks to the Board and its Strategy Committee.

− Designed a 5 years’ business strategy for the organization.
− Presented Annual Plan for the group to the Board of Directors, formulating departmental KPI for the ManCom and then conducting monthly reviews with the CEO and the Board.
− Successfully secured a private placement deal of PKR 500 million for the company before its IPO.
− Launched monthly reporting pack for CEO and business heads covering performance review, highlighting exceptions and aligning counter actions required.
− Initiated daily morning bulletin including performance against sales KPIs, run rate required, exceptions report, product mix, footfall and basket size analysis, organic growth etc.
− Functional Lead for implementation of ERP representing Finance in the steering committee.
− Effected persistent restructuring of the company including journey of change in the status of the organization from two small firms to a PKR 7B public listed entity with 3 successful brands
− Led cattle fattening project of the company securing 90M aid from UNFAO
− Got two exceptional promotions in less than 3 years.
