A recognized member of Procurement Team at QATALUM, which is an Aluminium Smelter producing foundry alloys & extrusion ingots up to 585, 000 MT p.a. and energized by a dedicated Captive Power Plant of 1350MW, is a Joint Venture between Qatar Petroleum and Norsk Hydro AS
Business Impact:
- Managing the Raw Materials and CAPEX spends with annual value of USD 670 million
- Generating annual savings of USD 62 million by slashing operating cost
- Winner of The Cost Improvement Initiative 2013 Award, the impact was USD 6.2 million p.a.
Role:
- Ensuring optimum total cost of ownership throughout sourcing life cycle.
- Creating value chain to ensure un-interrupted & reliable supplies.
- Developing sourcing and contracts strategies in line with QPS management system.
- Preparing & managing RFI, RFP, RFQ, ITB, bid evaluations, negotiations and contracts.
- Driving continuous market assessments to develop alternate sources of supplies.
- Contribute towards transforming conventional supply chain into value added business center.

I worked as a Head of Purchase Department of two affiliates of TOTAL (Total PARCO & Total Atlas) both are the Fuel and Lubricants marketing affiliates of French energy group and provided the leadership and management drive to (5 members) purchasing team for strategic sourcing.
