• The role involves the following responsibilities:
• Overview: The primary responsibility is to provide legal support to all business units forming part of APC;
• Commercial Contracts: Review and draft supply, sales & marketing, confidentiality, construction, services and consulting agreements. Review and draft the standard suite of construction documentation (including the necessary tendering suite, LOls, and LOAs) based on FIDIC to ensure its suitability with the requirements of APC;
• Template Agreement: Develop and update all the contractual templates required by the business and provide continuous training to the business units for their use and deployment to support the businesses' expansion plans;
• Procurement Department: Work closely with the Procurement team to settle, update and implement procurement guidelines, and procedures;
• Mechanisms for procurement of goods and services. Update tender documents used by the Procurement team and advice on any deviations from the standard documents;
• Review and advice on various correspondences and letters. Provide advice on defects liability obligations; and governmental matters;
• Role within APC's hierarchy: Support each business unit in achieving its commercial goals by providing legal advice and minimizing risk in respect of its commercial agreements;
• Enabled the APC’s to share best practices in relation to law, risk management, compliance and other areas of business interest.
• Insurance: Ensured that the total cost of risk is balanced between insurance premiums and acceptable deductibles;
• Advisory: Providing complex legal opinions concerning a wide variety of legal matters locally and internationally;
• Regulatory: Providing legal advice and guidance on a number of regulatory and compliance requirements in insurance, banking, including general advice on government licenses for the APCs business;
• Compliance: Took on the role of a compliance team leadership for the Company, dealt with the Company ongoing requirements and compliance issues with the Jordanian Securities Commission (JSC) and Jordanian Companies Control Department (CCD);
• Litigation and dispute resolution: Working with the litigation team on a number of dispute resolution cases including negotiations and settlements, in a wide variety of practices, such as; insurance, constructions and energy. Also, Preparing and representing the company on various kind of cases including Customs, Commercial and labor cases;
Commercial goals by providing legal advice and minimizing risk in respect of its commercial agreements, negotiations and contracts. Attend business meetings, when required, including tender opening meetings for appointment of contractors/ consultants;
The role requires a well-developed commercial mindset, proactive with strong analytical, drafting, negotiating, communication skills, ability to explain and advise on complex legal issues effectively, good inter personal skill
