Key Accomplishments:
▪ Acted as the national consultant on social and economic benefits of enhanced environmental protection in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan for the European Commission.
▪ Assessed the socio-economic costs of potential climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies for the UNFCCC.
▪ Designed a training module for IFAD’s Global Mechanism on new financing mechanisms for sustainable land management and valuation of economic costs from land degradation and climate change. Delivered the training to public official representatives from 10 countries in regional, sub-regional and national workshops in Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia.
Research assignments in Spain, Tunisia, and Portugal on sustainable practices in agricultural water management & policy and on valuation of environmental benefits using choice experiments.
Consulting assignments on financial & economic valuation of pollution of river ecosystems.
Support assignments to develop air quality management legal framework (passed as a law by Parliament in 2018), integrated solid waste management at community level, valuation of green jobs’ potential, and cost-benefit analysis of air quality legislation and management plan.
