• Offer a range of psychosocial services including to, but not limited to: (a) assessments such as learning styles, level of functioning, etc. (b) intakes, (c) counseling on a one-on-one or group basis; (d) assessing student needs to develop, market, and facilitate a wide range of psycho educational and peer support services.
• Initiates, develops, evaluates, markets, and facilitates a variety of services and support groups to aid students being more successful in their personal learning, personal growth, and university experience. This includes, but is not limited to, offering programs focused on enhancing students’: (a) stress management abilities, (b) ability to handle stressful/challenging situations more effectively; (c) academic functioning; (d) interpersonal and intrapersonal functioning.
• Initiates peer support groups on campus and offers supervision to these groups.
• Provides crisis intervention, referral to external professionals, and appropriately conducts follow ups of these cases.
• Initiates and maintains contacts external contacts with relevant professionals in the field who are in a position to provide potential psychosocial support to ZU students.
• Sets up an atmosphere of trust, confidentiality, and respect to encourage parents, faculty and staff of the University to seek consultation and/or referral related to enhancing students experience on campuses. .
• Assists the Student Affairs Division in all major programs such as New Student Orientation, New Parent Orientation, Registration, Prospective Student Day, Study Abroad Programs, Parents’ evening, Careers and Activity days etc., as directed by the Supervisor, Student Services.
• Maintains appropriate file notes that are appropriate for the situation. Ensures all file notes are kept confidential and are locked at all times.
• Maintains weekly statistics on services performed each week that are compiled into an annual report. Data collection entails, but is not limited to: number of clients seen; type of problems; duration of sessions; number of sessions per client; effectives of services; new program development; attendance at event.
• Supervision of at least one intern per semester from the College of Education.

• Ensures that all patients, visitors, guests, as well as co-workers, receive personalized, prompt attention and are treated with receptiveness, dignity and respect, no matter how limited the contact.
• Performs other related duties, as required
