Translation, Media Monitoring & Analysis


- Display a deep understanding of regional media, including their affiliations, funding, and agendas.
- Supervise monitoring activities of key media outlets in the Arab region, including Pan Arab, local websites, and social media accounts pertaining to major personalities and entities in the area.
- Monitor major security, political, and social incidents influencing the region and releasing timely reports to customers.
- Assist in managing the tasks and priorities of other linguists who are working remotely.
- Apply quality control procedures to the work of less experienced linguists
- Apply analytic skills to draft and finalize a wide range of written products, including summaries and short-form briefs and reports
- Accurately provide the cultural and ethnic context of translations
- Use critical thinking and analytic skills to process large amounts of information to determine important information
- Ensure program collection plan is up to date; develop key elements of collection plan
- Provide daily administrative and workflow oversight for personnel
- Plan, direct, and coordinate training and developmental activities for contract linguists in association with the Program Manager
- Manage and track priorities and tasks levied on the program; ensure requirements are answered in a timely manner
- Align program resources to best respond to tasking and/or respond to breaking events

•Ensuring the delivery of services in accordance with User Guide instructions as applied to work requests.
•Performing duties assigned by the GM on an ad hoc basis.
•Reviewing the work translated by junior translators
•Performing translations based on the requirements and team capacity
•Running a QC on a maximum of 10% of all translations produced by the team in order to identify any areas of weakness for communication and training where necessary. This will be on a sample basis of documents
•Acting as a key point of contact for engagement teams to communicate any higher level issues or comments, including but not limited to, any issues or comments regarding deadlines or any complaints.
•Ensuring that the team has adequate training to fulfil the requirements of the user guide, with evidence to support this.
•Take on People Manager role for all junior team members
•Ensuring that staff are receiving regular constructive feedback on their performance
