Actively supports the DC/CDC to meet the global and local Sustainability goals as outlined in the IKEA Group Sustainability Strategy “People & Planet Positive”. Challenge the organisation to stay focused and not compromise long term goals for short term gains.
Aspects delivered:
• Coordinating and leading the Sustainability related work within the DC/CDC based on the DS 2020 Roadmap for Sustainability and the respective goals.
• Working with and inspiring the DC/CDC organization to keep Sustainability integrated into the daily business.

• Steering the Sustainability communication towards local Management and co-workers and partnering with the Communications Responsible in the unit/area.
• Maintaining DC/CDC IWAY compliance according to the IWAY Working method for Distribution
• Monitoring and coordinating the implementation of applicable environmental legislation for the DC/CDC.
• Actively following external developments and networks to gain a more global and visionary view.
Providing consultancy service related to sustainability / green building rating systems requirements for various design & construction projects in UAE.
Aspects delivered:
• Acting Team Leader - Managing & overseeing the operation and performance of sustainability consultants at Alpin and planning for resourcing and operation requirements.
• Implementation of project management principles (scheduling, resource levelling, client relation, estimation, controlling, etc..).
• Managing the process of compliance with green building rating systems such as LEED, and Estidama.
• Coordination with projects team members to give advice on sustainability requirements.
• Providing training and awareness workshops in green building rating systems and its requirements.
• Performing financial studies related to best approaches to be performed during building construction and operational phases to ensure compliance with sustainability certification requirements.
• Overseeing construction progress to give advice on activities related to sustainability.
• Being part of the business development team by participating in introducing new clients to the company and taking lead in discussions related to proposals and bidding stages to secure new projects.
• Development of specific design & construction documentation related to Sustainability requirements and objectives.
