Maintain and improve financial and management reporting and accounting processes and related controls for providing accurate and timely financial information for GIC to internal and external users, comprising shareholders, Board, Audit committee, CBK and GIC senior management.
To have overall responsibility for accounting controls to ensure accuracy, completeness and genuineness of financial transactions recorded in GIC’s CBS.
Ensure that all the accounting systems and related output comply with both statutory and IFRS requirements
Ensure that all the accounting systems and related output comply with both statutory and AAOIFI requirements
To be the key point of contact for all aspects of accounting and regulatory advice to the entire Bank.
To be the key point of contact with the external auditors ensuring timely completion of audit and an unqualified audit opinion.
Lead and manage the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with AAOIFI and Bahrain Commercial Companies law and other statutory requirements
Manage production of all financial reports on monthly/quarterly/annual/ad hoc basis for major shareholders, Board, AC, management, CBB and other users as appropriate.
Manage production of all regulatory reports on monthly/quarterly/annual/ad hoc basis for CBB.
Initiate, guide and manage activities to develop: policies, procedures, methods of work and accounting standards; so as to ensure consistency and improved service quality, at all times, with the overall objective of enhancing effectiveness of the accounting and financial systems and mechanisms.
Monitor the performance of the staff, to ensure that they meet the requirements of the planned/agreed objectives.
Be a key point of contact for both internal and external auditors on financial related matters.
Ensure all internal and external audit requirements are addressed in a timely and adequate manner.
Part of the Finance team in one of the wholesale bank in Bahrain. Key responsibilities and achievements include:
The main responsibility was to meet the regulatory reporting requirements including prudential report and statistical returns in a timely and efficient manner.
Prepare consolidated financial statements on quarterly basis, with direct communication with the external auditor.
Establish policies and procedures for the finance department.
Management information system reporting and analysis, including business segmentation, costing, and transfer pricing policies.
Monthly preparation of financial reports, budgets, cost reports and financial forecasts to aid strategic decision making.
Assisting business units in their budgeting and planning process.
Reporting to the CFO with the responsibility to review the monthly management accounts ensuring they are delivered in an accurate and timely fashion. Fully responsibility for both the budgets and forecasts and working closely with the Cost Controllers and General Managers.
Monitor the investments holding by the bank on daily basis.
