Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations Preserves assets by implementing system redundancy and back-up procedures and information security and control Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems Consults with high level management to determine information technology requirements of the company Set budget and priorities to new projects, and discuss systems capacity and hardware and software acquisitions Sets direction and planning for the IT department and staff, such as system upgrades and IT personnel training. Provides Level-2 and Level-3 support for ITS staff managing campus network and infrastructure Develops plans, strategies and technical specifications for network optimization and expansion Manages day-to-day operation of system network Troubleshoots and resolves network communication and systems problems Ensures proper installation of hardware, phone service, and network connections Performs systems backups and data recovery Maintains network (data & voice) accounts Maintains security of network
Administer network workstations, utilizing one or more TCP/IP networking protocols Evaluate and/or recommend purchases of computers, network hardware. Investigate user problems identify their source, determine possible solutions. Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, workstations, file servers, Ethernet networks, network Cabling, and other related equipment. Perform software and application development, installation, and upgrades. Plan and implement network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, file system integrity, adding and deleting
Provide Level-3 support for ITS staff, and administration personnel Maintain a fully functional environment (PCs, network, multi-media) including Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and resolve helpdesk issues Coordinate install, move, add, change, and warrantee repair with vendors Assist other Information Technology Services (ITS) staff with maintaining network operations Assists with modifying and developing technical and user support procedure manuals, reference guides and network And hardware related documents
