Led all HR functions across the 290 outlet, 1, 800 employee and $1bn t/o retail company, spanning six MENA countries through a period of significant internal and external organisational change. o Developed the personnel team into a full HR function in line with company growth and established this as a critical business partner for the international brand.
o Set up the Saudi HR team and recruited 504 Saudi nationals in response to the government mandated Saudization/Feminization project, substantially minimising predictive negative business impact of 30%.
o Applied innovative talent management techniques to attract, develop and retain quality talent to meet cost and strategic objectives, maximising the potential of the existing diverse talent mix.

Responsible for all HR aspects of the 11, 000 employee, $1bn t/o fresh food and general merchandise retailer, based in Kuwait and operating across Oman, Jordan, Lebanon and Bahrain, comprising 60 stores.
o Designed and delivered a new organisational structure to facilitate shared services across stores and a HR strategy to align disparate HR functions and transform HR from traditional to strategically integrated.
o Embedded the first performance management processes in the group and set up a Training Academy from concept to futureproof The Sultan Center against change and built sustainable capability.
o Developed a branded staff engagement survey across the group to highlight opportunities for improvements to morale. Proactively responded to feedback to significantly boost morale and culture.
Developed the overall HR strategy, policies, procedures, standards and budgeting guidelines across all geographies of operation.
o Secured senior approval for HR policies and standards impacting compensation and benefits, including salary and grading structures, allowances and benefits, payroll, job descriptions and job evaluations.
o Guided the continual evolution of training and development, from training strategy through to programmes and plans in addition to succession planning.
Oversaw recruitment function activities throughout geographies and businesses, including policies and procedures, talent sourcing and on-boarding and recruitment campaigns aligned to wider group strategy.
o Conducted the technical interviews and corporate screening of all corporate resources and first-line managers in all operating countries.
o Selected as a member of the Store Development Committee to ensure store recruitment needs were met.
o Transformed the new-hire orientation programme to encompass HR information and company resources and extended its duration to cover the full probationary period, fully ensuring quality of hires.
o Introduced the Education Assistance programme that enabled 50 managers to receive executive education.
o Played an integral role in the successful launch of the Lebanon, Jordan and Oman offices by structuring and implementing training, compensation, benefits, incentives and orientation procedures.
o Designed and delivered the Nationalisation programme in Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain and led the organisation stream in a transformation project across Commercial, Operations, Logistics and Marketing.
o Forged a robust global network of high-level headhunters and recruitment agents.
o Maintained consistent 100% management staffing levels and 90% staff levels in addition to exceeding annual personnel budget targets and business objectives.
