Act as regional engineering interface and solution architect between the engineering design/development groups, Commercial, Sales and the customers, to provide gas plant service upgrades for existing service fleet in Middle East.
Key responsibilities:
• Generating the Conversion, Modification & Uprate (CM&U) solutions in form of Technical proposals for Gas Turbine block (ALSTOM Frame GT13D, GT13E1, GT11D, GT13E2 and GE Frame 9E, 9FA). It includes technical description, solution benefits, plant impact, material and cost definitions of the provided gas plant solutions.
• Prepare parts and engineering cost estimates in conjunction with costing groups, including enquiries on subcontractors and liaison with internal engineering support groups for cost data.
• Identify potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels., as well as lead the technical risk review and liaise with subject matter experts to get the necessary input required.
• Act as system architect for leading complex and extended project deals in region (>50 Mill $), which involve significant integrated plant scope and FEED (Front End Engineering Design) on generator, electrical systems, water steam cycle along with gas turbine upgrade.
• Partner with commercial and sales team to support developing value proposition, techno-commercial strategy and outcome based gas plant technical solutions for customers in terms of plant efficiency improvement, additional power output, increase plant availability and reliability.
• Conduct preliminary site assessments, customer presentations, technical clarification meetings to understand customers KPI, which acts as a basis for the technical offerings and proposal.
• Contact point and gate keeper to regional Requisition Engineering team to ensure smooth hand over of technical offerings from contract award to execution project engineering team.
Managed team of technical advisors for the Gas Turbines installed base in Middle East Africa responsible for:
• Supporting the sales tendering team in definition and preparation of gas turbine thermal block material packages, field modification instructions, for standard inspection and upgrades.
• Provide continuous feedback to engineering competence centre for supporting fleet technical strategies on product development, potential design and field modifications instruction improvements
• Timely and correctness in identification of gas turbine spare parts based on customer spare part queries. Thermal block configuration management and update of customer documentation after outage completion.
• Support the fleet engineering team in RCA and 8D process in implementing correctness and prevention of technical issues by providing data and feedback of potential causes.
• Coordinate meetings with the product committee, project manager and functional management to discuss project impediments, needed resources or issues in completing the task
Technical Project Manager for ALSTOM installed fleet in Gulf (>1000MW) responsible for providing outage strategy, upgrade packages, technical scope recommendation, operational & maintenance support for GT/ CC power plant. Customer and contract responsible for SOHAR- 0&M, DUBAL-LTSA, RUWAIS-Transactional
Key responsibilities include the following:
• Technical project life cycle responsibility for initiation, planning, execution and close out of minor and major combined cycle gas turbine inspection projects.
• Provide outage strategy and upgrade packages, technical scope documentation and parts life-cycle management for entire combined cycle gas turbine plant to Customer Service Manager and PMO.
• Actively contribute to optimize outage scope, duration, cost and support tendering offer/ordering process for sales.
• First point of contact for providing operation support and responding technical queries of customer
• Create Field Service Instructions for Technical Advisors and conduct technical briefing.
Definition of gas turbine spare part packages according to project strategy for minor and major inspection planning.
• Perform onsite assessment/fact finding of gas turbine parts during minor and major inspections and provide technical recommendation on the reusability of the turbine parts.
• Update as-maintained gas turbine spare part configuration in SAP material planning after major inspection completion.
Planning setup and implementation of fuel cell tests under specific experimental conditions and analysis of test results. Experiments were mainly focussed on optimization and development of fuel cells flow field designs for various internal and external projects from
Ballard and Ford.
Experimental measurement and investigation of performance of different hydrophobic coated heat exchanger plates, resulting in enhancement of dropwise condensation in plate heat exchangers.
Mechanical and constructive measures for development and processing of fiber-reinforced thermoplastics, by means of Ansys simulation, AutoCAD and experimental investigation.
Repair and maintenance work of the test machines as well as conducting practical sessions for students in the thermodynamic laboratory.
Microstructure investigation of high temperature Cr-steels, by testing the variation in mechanical and physical behaviour at different experimental parameters useful for the ultra-supercritical power plants.
Basic workshop training in manual techniques with cutting, filling and operation of basic mechanical machines.
