Responsible for all aspects of petrophysical support to Western Canada, East Coast and Asia Pacific regions including well log acquisition program design, implementation and supervision; detailed petrophysical interpretations and analyses integrating well logs with various other data sources including conventional and special core analyses, XRD, XRF, HyperSpectral imaging, thin section petrography, well testing, drill cuttings analyses and strip logs, mud logging and gas-detection data, etc.; generation of synthetic shear sonic travel time data for use in seismic inversion and mechanical properties evaluation/interpretation; inversion modeling and interpretation of obsolete electric logs; interpretation of cased hole logs including production logs, pulsed neutron logs and cement evaluation logs; normalization of log data across fields under development including normalization of horizontal log data; evaluation of logging contractor service tenders.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
▪ Key contributor (Subject Matter Expert) to the HOOS (Heavy Oil/Oil Sands)
initiative to standardize GeoGraphix (Prizm/GVERSE) petrophysical analysis methodology used by G+G staff resulting in more precise reservoir characterization and higher accuracy of resulting volumetric calculations and
reserve estimates.
▪ Spearheaded log analysis and petrophysics training of recent geology and engineering grads to maximize G&G talent pool. Personally supervised the training/mentoring of a series of G&G geologists on rotational assignment to the geological services group.
▪ Assisted with data acquisition operations and analysis of Statoil-operated significant discovery at Bay du Nord, offshore East Coast.
▪ Supervised (remote) log data acquisition operations and subsequent detailed petrophysical evaluations of newly-drilled wells contributing to the successful LiuHua (off-shore China) development program in 2019. Acted as petrophysical advisor in subsequent assurance scrutiny during the North Asia Projects Peer Review.
▪ Performed detailed integrated petrophysical evaluations of on-shore East Java (Indonesia) wells drilled in complex mixed siliciclastic-volcaniclastic lithologies as part of the Liman Joint Study; acted as petrophysical subject matter expert for 2019 Chiefs Review/Peer Assist of Indonesian projects.
▪ Principal petrophysicist for the Heavy Oil Reserve Estimate (OOIP) Project, performing petrophysical evaluations on hundreds of wells across multiple areas of interest from NE Alberta into Saskatchewan to assist in estimation of the total resource potential of bitumen/heavy oil in-place across Husky’s core heavy oil properties.

Elected to CWLS Executive as Vice President in 2010. Duties included
organizing and finding speakers for technical luncheon series. Subsequently
held positions on the executive as President and Past President.

Processing and interpretation of wellbore image logs, pulsed neutron logs and dipole sonic logs. Production log interpretation and Propellant Stimulation horizontal fracture modeling. Advanced open and cased hole log interpretation including shaley sand, complex lithology and multi-mineral analyses for integration with pulsed neutron interpretations; processing of full-waveform acoustic logs for shear travel time; mechanical properties determination from wireline log data incorporating shear sonic, resistivity/acoustic image logs and formation tester data. Inversion modeling and interpretation of old electric logs. Supervision of day-to-day Computing Center activities including COMSTAR Satellite Data Transmission, log quality control, data processing and archiving. Sales calls and presentations to PES clients for project follow-up and training purposes.
