Admission and Discharge Assessment of Inpatients.
Administers oral, parental, rectal, I.V. medications and blood based on physician’s order.
Provides patient/family instruction so that learning needs are met.
Identifies patient response to treatment and progress toward accomplishment of desired outcomes.
Performs nursing intervention/procedures/activities of daily living appropriate to the developmental age and condition of the child.
Collects and assesses patient data within the scope of practice for various age groups.
Utilizes acquired knowledge base in the provision of nursing care to patients/families.
Maintains the rights of the patient and family.
Adhere to safety, confidentiality, security, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements identified within the organization.
Documents care provided in a precise, timely and efficient manner.
Making individualized nursing care plans based on the nurse assessment and doctor’s diagnosis.
Vital signs monitoring.
Charting/Documentation of patient’s status.
Charting and keeping of patient records (e.g., fluid and intake monitoring).
Lavage and Gavage feeding.
Pulse Oxymeter Monitoring and other vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, respiratory rate).
Initiating IV fluids infusion and blood transfusion.
Assisting patients in pre and post-surgical exercises if there’s any.
Performs wound dressing with aseptic technique if there’s any.
Glucose testing and insulin administration with asepsis technique.
Diagnostic test and specimen collection with aseptic technique.
