An architect firm running 25 computers in Local Area Network employed me as an IT Manager. My role was to upgrade the whole network.
•Studied about all the available server configurations provided by all well known manufacturers and the business requirements. After having a look at all the issues and workload in the office, decided which one is appropriate for the business.
•Choose appropriate Operating System and design a network system to make the network safe and to make all the necessary services available to other computers.
•Installed necessary updates and compatible drivers for other hardware like printers, scanners to work perfect with the new environment. Management of the applications, sharing files, sharing printers, giving rights to the folders and users too for access the data with permissions and security.
•I did write some log-on-scripts for all the domain users of the domain network to create a unique environment within the office computers.
•Installation of the dedicated mail server which runs IMail Server 2006 with Windows 2000 Server operating system. I created e-mail accounts for all the users and built inbound and outbound rules for the mail server to keep it working fine.
