work both as a general ophthalmologist and as a pediatric ophthalmologist. The practice included teaching and training of medical students and ophthalmology residents as well as ophthalmology research projects. 


*Clinical observership in pediatric ophthalmology and strabsismus, Wilmer eye institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Maryland, USA

I spent the months of January and February, 2016, with Professor Dr David Guyton at the Wilmer Eye Institute evaluating

patients in the clinic and analyzing and treating both children and adults in the operating rooms. I gained extensive exposure to the use of adjustable sutures in strabismus surgery.



I attended Joumal Clubs, Grand Rounds, and selected lectures during my stay.

I undertook a study to determine if either fourth or sixth cranial nerve palsy from early life might be related to astigmatism and amblyopia from deformation of the globe from asymmetric pulling of the muscles. Definite correlations could not be found.

Four-year training of more complex pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and adult strabismus. 
 extensive training on examination, decision making in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus including performance of over 200 strabismus surgical cases (as a primary surgeon).

Three-year training of ophthalmology practice; including 
clinical skills in the diagnosis and management of various ophthalmologic diseases and surgical skills involving fundamental ophthalmic surgery including; cataract, glaucoma and strabismus surgery, keratoplasty, use of argon and diode laser for the treatment of various retinal problems and use of YAG laser for treatment of various anterior segment problems as well as training of basic oculoplastic, vitreoretinal and pediatric ophthalmology surgery. 


Basic training in general medicine, pediatric medicine, basic 
surgical skills, emergency medicine, basic orthopedic surgical skills, basic gynecology and obstetric medicine and basic ophthalmology practice
