•Audits (warranty & motor plan) for all the dealers, BMW, Mini and ARC across the country. Using the following programmes to analyse job cards: Caesar-ETK Parts-Puma technical-KSD Costing-FBM Viewer diagnostic- Dealer net - Kerridge- Microsoft Office. We audit the dealer on a 5 year period with a programme recommended by KPMG to access the correct defects within that period. We audit the job cards for correctness from a technical point of view as well as a financial outcome. We then finalise the report and get it signed off by our Local directors and report it to the board in Germany
Did consulting work for Cape Town Dealers, and updating their Health & Safety systems for them to be compliant to the Act.Assisted them with dealer standards issues and action plans to implement such to achieve better score on dealer standards.
•As Operations Manager. In charge of the workshop and panel shop - which is multi franchise, BMW, Mitsubishi, Tata, Mahindra, Fuso, Nissan, M Benz, Suzuki, Volkswagen, and Honda. We had a well established workshop with no attention given to sales in Mwanza, and that was my focus to develop sales in the Lakes Region.
•We also have about 20 Safari Land cruisers which take tourists on Safari to the Serengeti.
•Another part of the business was our rental section which rented out “Mine spec” Land cruisers pickups to the mine sector at 100 usd/day (20) these had to be serviced on site as they could not leave the sites - we had to co ordinate this from Mwanza.

Manage our own group of Lease vehicles through our dealer network for maintenance and Accident repairs. Formulate training for own staff and dealers, Implement dealer purchase targets to conform with Dealer standards, Identify more branches for OEM approval to ensure bigger footprint for aftersales of Mitsubishi / Fuso
Contract - service manager at edenvale branch which is situated at the head office, Improved profitability and efficiency, Implemented a good bonus system for the mechanics which made them more efficient and earn good bonuses.
•Service Manager at Lindsay Saker East Rand Mall -VW /Touareg /SEAT dealership. Was transferred to Johannesburg branch in Jan 2008. I had an 15 Bay workshop with a full staff compliment of 24. Doing 35- 40 car per day. The efficiency was 115%, Reporting to the Dealer Principal, responsible for all service department aspects with labour turnover of approximately R850 000 per month
I started a consultancy practice, which is specific to the motor industry, which deals with Health, Safety and Environment. The work entails seeing each customer once a month to do the following:
• Do health and safety assessments and inspection and issue report.
• Updating tool registers such as Portable electrical tools, Arc welder, Oxygen welding set, grinder, Ladder, Engine cranes, gearbox Jacks.
• Implementing and integrating health and safety system into dealer standards.
• Holding 3 monthly health and safety meetings.
• Assisting with implementation of safe work procedures, environmental procedures,
• Evaluating training needs and assist.
• Draw up emergency plan for dealership and evacuation plan.
• Assist with new layout and specs of new/refurbished dealerships to ensure compliance.
• Assist dealership with implementation of Dealer standards and ISO 9000/ 14000 & 18000 to be implemented.
• Assisting with OEM approval for Panel shops .
managing both the service department and parts department for Volkswagen and Audi. This is a medium-sized dealership where my workshop had six mechanics with a labour turnover of approximately R350 000 per month and my parts turnover is an average of R300 000 per month. This is probably the only Volkswagen dealership in our country with such a position. I was offered this opportunity and see it as a great challenge to changing times in the motor industry in our country. A lot of smaller dealerships are closing down and this one decided to streamline by appointing me in this position where they have one person managing the parts & service department.
• Service & Risk Control Manager, responsible for all service department aspects of employing of 15 qualified mechanics with labour turnover of approximately R400 000 per month. Specific duties include managing two workshops, one for Audi and one for Volkswagen.
•Parts and Service Manager Reporting to Dealer Principal, responsibility for VW / \Audi franchised parts operation.. Processing of warranty claims, on-line to VW South Africa (Infolan). Also supervised workshop with labour turnover of 600 Hrs per month. The above entailed the day-to-day supervision of one parts counter salesman, two mechanics and two RSAs.
• Trainee Manager - Assigned to a group of Tractor companies (Fedco - Massey Ferguson) to implement a computer system in the parts division.
• Did inventory control and central buying of parts for nine branches across the Western Cape
• In January 1990 the Management Team was incorporated into WPK Motor Group.
• Relocated as trainee to Tygerberg BMW Parts Department with duties:
o *Filling in for the Parts Manager
o *Visiting bigger customers trade and panel shops and getting new customers
o *Debt collecting
o *Warehousing
o *Inventory control
o *Stock take reconciliation
o *Sales, admin and account queries
Completed the diploma which is part of a stuctured BBA degree wth a C average,
