Financial Advisor with a group of companies in Dubai, with interests in real estate, construction and education.
Job responsibilities
• Monitoring accounting records and review of financial statements of the companies.
• Ensure financial statements and policies are in accordance with IFRS.
• Review and improvement of systems, policies and procedures to facilitate internal control.
• Provide meaningful commentary and analysis of financial data.
• Provide financial, commercial and legal support to management.
Responsible for managing the audit and assurance practice for the firm.
Maintaining and development of client relationship for a portfolio of over 200 clients
Providing client advisory services & problem solving guidance to management/owners
Quality control over deliverables to clients
People development, mentoring staff and oversee recruitment of new staff.
First point of contact for potential clients of the firm
Sourcing business and identifying business opportunities from clients
IFRS guidance to staff and clients
Monitoring revenue generation, collections, cost control over assignments
Overall responsibility for managing the office in Sharjah and develop the practice in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates
• Manage a portfolio of over 50 clients for conduct of audits and related assignments. The portfolio of clients includes FMCG, manufacturing, contracting, trading, travel and service companies.
• Relationship management with business associates. Managing staff and provide supervision and quality control of audit and other assignments.
• Provide ‘value-add’ on assignments and render operational and strategic advice to clients. Focus on client requirements, ensure that deliverables are on time and in accordance with standards of the firm and provide presentations to owners/management.
• Have carried out share and business valuation assignments using financial modeling and analysis techniques.
• Identify business opportunities for the firm and provide in-house training for staff.
The team leader of the Control Assurance team for Hindustan Lever Ltd. (a Unilever company) to evaluate internal controls in the business and report to the senior management.
Responsible for statutory audits viz. Finalisation of annual accounts, compliance with statutory requirements, tax audits, parent company reporting for foreign multinational companies operating in India and various certification work.
The portfolio of companies interacted with as the Head of audit group include some of the leading companies in India viz. Hindustan Lever Ltd., Tata Electric Companies, Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO) (major companies of the Tata group), Mahindra & Mahindra (an automobile major) and a host of other companies.
