Responsibilities: • Preparing Weekly cash flow / forecasting
• Preparing monthly reporting
• Performing full accounting function up to balance sheet
• Preparation of budgets (yearly and monthly)
• Implementation of financial controls and systems where potential risks might arise
• Submission of relevant Statutory documents (VAT, PAYE, Workman's Compensation)
• Performing cost analysis, market value calculations and other relevant calculations as required by management
• Ensuring Tax compliance (Income tax and VAT)
• Preparing audit file, including all reconciliations and verifications
Being a subsidiary of an International company, I have had exposure to international transactions and accounting practices during my time at the current company. Working closely with management (both local and international), I take control of the financial side of transactions by either reviewing possible risk areas or by analysis and cost calculations to support transactions. Being a subsidiary, I have been forced to adhere to deadlines without any problems and have submitted all reporting timeously and accurately. My
high work ethic, and passion to make a success of whatever a do, have assisted me in successfully
implementing controls over the payment cycle and setting up necessary procedures to ensure the full
accounting function can be run from in-house.
Audit Manager (2010 - Current) January 2006 - July 2012
Responsibilities: • Leading and managing teams on various statutory audits
• Setting up of budgets and leading teams to complete work within the time frame and by deadlines
• Preparing audit programs and ensuring effective completion thereof
• Assessing internal controls and identifying risk areas relevant to the client's entity
• Communicating expectations of audit, giving guidance during audit by means of necessary
training and review of work performed by the team to ensure it meets an acceptable standard
• Preparing and completing audit files for review by partner
• Preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS and IFRS for SME's
• Communicating audit findings with partners and clients, giving ratio analysis and advice relating to variances on financial statements
• Completing statutory records (VAT, EMP and income tax returns for all entity types)
• Monthly accounting work for various clients and the preparation of management accounts
In our current audit environment we have to, on a daily basis, manage our time efficiently in order to meet
numerous budgets and deadlines. Even under extreme circumstances I have managed to complete all the necessary tasks efficiently, while still maintaining a high standard of work ethic. We have to work well
together in teams in order to bring about the highest level of client satisfaction and keep our firm's high
standard of work. In order to continue with our high level of service, the company relies greatly on the
Audit Managers to set high personal standards and to manage people effectively and lead them to a greater
level of achievement with the example we set.
