plant as Snr- power plant operation engineer with same task & duties.
1. Operates generators and auxiliary facilities and equipment in Power Plant. Includes monitoring control panels and switch gear metering to operate and control generators and the power distributing system. Ensures that electricity generation and power distribution are carried out safely and reliably.
2. Drafts hot and cold work permits and ensures that all necessary procedures and instructions are observed and followed.
3. Isolate equipment that requires maintenance of all its fuel and air supply and ensures all electrical isolation are carried out in accordance with safe work procedures.
4. Monitors the operating conditions of all the equipment on site and reports problems to supervisor for further action. The equipment include:
Starting Air Compressor
Fuel Centrifuge and Separators
Mechanical and Rigging Equipment in the Generator Skids area
Electrical Power Generation Equipment HV, MV & LV.
All related auxiliary equipment on Generator Skids
Emergency Generator
Batteries, Chargers and UPS system
Crude Oil Fuel Treatment Package

Task & duties:
1- I worked as on job trainees for 2 yrs & Power plant operator/techn- under observation for
next 2yrs.
2- Gained different safety/technical courses for all field works.
Supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the Power Plant. Performs supervisory
duties at the level established by management for the position.
2- Monitors and directs the safe operation of all rotating equipment and auxiliaries,
Power generation equipment, synchronization equipment, switches gears, circuit breakers
and transformers. Includes checking the metering of amps to substations transfers and
load on the turbines at regular intervals. Enters, in log, readings as well as a list of all
pertinent activities, known problems and possible problem areas.
3- Plans preventive maintenance schedules to minimize generator down time and maximize
power output. Includes following up on maintenance work until successful completion and
inspection of the completed work.
4- Ensures reliable operation of UPS and emergency generator system. Includes taking action
to rectify abnormalities or deals with potential problems, preparing work requests and
passing to supervisor for approval and further action.
5- Approves, safe work permits and ensures that all necessary procedures and standing
instructions are followed. Includes preparing safe Power Plant procedures.
6- Cooperates closely with the Maintenance group in Heglig to solve operating and design
problems.
7- Prepares the daily Power Plant report to ensure proper function of equipment. Includes
recording all functions such as power generation and distribution, fuel consumption,
problems and action taken to rectify running problems, etc.
Bachelor's Technology of Electrical Engineering in both power and control.
