As a Corporate IT manager responsible for the management of the organization regional branches located in the MENA region, my duties are mainly divided into 3 major categories IT Management, Programing/Development, and IT Technical support.
My duties range from analyzing requirements to creating implementation plans, feasibility studies, resource
requirements and budgets in addition to providing support in software development and IT technical assistance to subordinates. Below are my major duties:
Consulting with top management on quarterly basis in order to help determine IT goals in alignment to
business requirements.
Prioritizing IT initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and
future IT system across the organization.
Establishing IT departmental goals, objectives and operating procedures consistent with the Strategic
goals.
Managing projects from feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development to implementation.
Develop detailed system and other functional specifications and user documentation for major systems
with the coordination of senior managers.
Researches, analyses and evaluates new applications and makes recommendations for their
deployment.
Identifies and proposes software improvements to solve problems impacting significant areas of the
organization's work.
Tracks and monitors project progress against plan and requirements.
Development/Update of IT policies, standards and procedures.
Provide training sessions to users in the different regions on newly implemented systems.
Coordinates activities in the different regions by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and
directing the work of subordinate employees.
Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
Manages and maintains centralized servers.
Software design and development using c#, VB. Net, Vba, Vb6.
Create, maintain, implement and administrate centralized databases.
Designs, develops and maintains web-based portals.
Responsible for the discovery, mitigation and documentation of information technology risks.
Ensures the availability, continuity and security of data and information.
Implements information security controls to protect information systems assets.
Perform information security risk assessments.
Travels to different regional branches.
As an IT Administrator in SABA I.P. with the additional role of system developer I had the opportunity to
work on IT related tasks in addition to software development tasks. Throughout the 4 years I spent in
SABA I.P I worked on many projects from small scale to large scale projects with the coordination of IT
Administrators in the remote branches.
Below are my major duties:
Software development using C#, VB 6, vb. net, VBA, c++, IBM DB2.
Creates, maintains, implements and administrates centralized databases using MS SQL Server
Building applications using Microsoft Access.
Creating Reports and charts using Crystal Reports
Responsible for the administration of Windows Server, Exchange Server and ISA server.
Responsible for the Configuration of firewalls.
Managing Network security.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connection, printer and software issues reported to the Service
Desk.
Update network applications as required
Maintain daily tape backup and off-site tape storage
Troubleshoot and resolve all problems encountered with hardware and software. Escalate requests to
the appropriate party, as needed. Replace or repair defective parts and equipment.
Conduct technology training for new users
Provide support to the Technology team
Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise
Attend courses to develop and keep skills and knowledge current
Perform routine server monitoring
Monitor and remove virus, spyware, and other non-authorized software
Complete special projects as requested
Project Design and implementation
Software implementation, support and administration with the coordination of IT Administrators in other
branches (11 branches in the middle east)
