➢ Admissions & Discharge Procedures, maintaining records. Total patient care which includes assessing, planning and implementing, Medicine administration, IV CANULA insertion, Cardiac Monitoring of the patient, ECG Recording and monitoring, Assisting for intubations, attending cardiac arrest, Taking ABG sample, Assisting for lumbar puncture, Surgical dressing CVP site, tracheostomy care, Blood transfusion, taking inventory and make sure the working condition of the equipments, assisting for the bone marrow Aspiration, Attending the doctors Rounds & Telemetry Monitoring.
➢ Responsible for the co-ordination and supervision of care and
Organization of the staff during the assigned shift guided by hand-over
Reports, nursing and Hospital policies, Procedures. Acuity measures,
clinical judgment
Provides direction to the staff and assists with them as needed.
Recognizes or anticipates problems on the shift and reorganizes
Assignments based upon changing patient need and acuity.
Assures appropriate documentation of care given on the shift and that
Census data is updated.
Assigns special responsibilities as per unit's shift duties schedule (eg
Narcotic count).
Evaluates nursing care and practice through rounds, patient observation
and documentation and takes action or provides guidance based upon
clinical judgment.
Co-ordinates the units' response to Emergency situations
Aware of safety issues taking action organizing,
co-coordinating and planning for its hours of operation including staff development,
application of standards of practice and adherence to the related
nursing and hospital policies.
Assist the manager in assuring the delivery of quality nursing care on the unit;
