Future Rider is an IT Distribution company specialized in Hardware & IT products, my role was to set up the accessories department and implement the retail business, specifically for consumer electronics, apple and mobile accessories.
Responsibilities
• Implemented accessories department and retail business from scratch and managed a team of 9.
• Defined and monitored the annual Profit and Loss plan and the department’s budget (P&L)
• Planned forecasts for 6 brands and created marketing and promotional strategies for each.
• Established and adjusted selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, supply and demand.
• Selected various products & suppliers, from the tendering process to the contractual agreements.
• Developed a store in around 14 e-commerce platforms, with 9 being very active (Souq, Crazy deals…)
• Expanded the company’s business to the Saudi, Kuwaiti and Qatari Markets.
• Set up sales targets by markets / territories and monitored them daily
• Hired, coached and monitored new team members
• Trained a team of 9 people on various aspects
(promotions, new products, business development, e-commerce, visual merchandising…etc.)
Achievements
• Over-achieved sales targets with a net profit of an extra 8% above forecast (28% NP in Total)
• Listed our products in the region’s top 10 retailers without paying listing fees (Virgin, Xcite, Jarir…)
• Solved AED 700, 000 worth of old stock issues and made a profit of 20% on top of that.
(Essentially by creating bundle deals and renegotiating with suppliers (credit notes))
• Drove our e-commerce presence from AED 0 up to AED 5, 000 per week in less than 12 months
• Renegotiated credit terms with 6 active suppliers (From TT advance to 30-45 days payment terms)
• Produced several top performers in my team, whom all over-achieved expectations.
• Successfully added 3 new brands to the products portfolio
• Resolved payment issues with old customers and restarted business relationships afresh.

GME Distribution (previously Goodram Middle East FZCO) is an IT Distribution Company specialized in consumer electronics and mobile accessories distribution in the MENA region. My role was to build an entirely new department (Consumer Electronics and Mobile Accessories) and boost the company’s retail presence in the region.
Responsibilities
• Solely planned sales and purchasing strategies from forecast to shelf pricing.
• Conducted the purchasing operations for 11 brands (from China, USA, UK, Taiwan, Germany…)
• Developed and managed our top 5 retail accounts while closely supervising accounts managed by the rest of the sales team (over 50 active retailers, e-commerce, Apple Premium Resellers).
• Singlehandedly hired 4 salesmen, 6 promoters and 2 merchandisers
• Delivered new products and brand training to my entire team (12 members)
• Worked closely with the team to ensure all 11 brands were effectively penetrating the UAE & GCC.
• Developed business plan for each brand (products selection, new markets strategy, profit estimates)
• Reviewed and kept track of inventory and requirements on a daily basis.
• Represented the company at sales shows and exhibitions.

As a freelance journalist, my role was to source and prepare subject matter for reports, to conduct interviews, to oversee production shooting and collaborate with the editorial team to produce finished reports.

• Successfully Produced, edited and sold 100% of my TV Reports (20 in total)
• Effectively covered Tunisian culture, economy and social stories.
