Help in researching and developing new products
Assist the chief engineer to ensure optimal and safe performance of the vessel by operating and maintaining the engine room in the most effective way. During night shift, be operationally end responsible.
Assist the chief engineer to execute the implementation of the maintenance schedule and spare parts requirements in accordance with plan and technical specifications.
Work and act according to defined policies and procedures of Technical Department.
Report to chief engineer on work done/ performance, issues and (preventive) maintenance requirements .
Ensure and provide guidance in the execution of basic and instant repairment on board .
Provide the chief engineer with input on the day to day performance of technical parts of the engine room .
Ensure and monitor the compliance with the HSE requirements in the engine-room.
Supervise and monitor quality assurance of the dry docking activities.
Reporting on QA to the chief engineer and engineering superintendent.
Report to Chief Engineer and (Sr.) dredge master on any failure or maintenance requirements that may affect the performance of the dredger or support craft.
Record, evaluate and document engine technical data.
Responsible for timely ordering of technical aspects and spare parts.
Provide leadership and guidance towards technical staff regarding all vessels and support crafts.
Work efficiently and constructively in cooperation with technical staff, (Sr.) dredge masters and operational crew.
Provide the chief engineer with input on the performance and development of technical staff as part of the performance evaluation process.
