Working capital management
• Optimizing cash flows and banking set-up across the group;
• Analyzing cash forecasts reports received from subsidiaries;
• Channelize excess cash for resolving working capital bottle necks;

Fund management
• Raising capital inflows in collaboration with the Group finance team;

Balancing covenants and financial exposures
• Hedge operating results against financial market exposures-interest rate risk and FX risk;
• Managing external borrowings across the group, including reduction of interest cost, approval of drawdowns and facility utilizations;
• Overseeing compliance with various financial and liquidity covenants across the group;
Facilitating oversight
• Presenting various liquidity reports to board of directors, highlighting short and long term liquidity risks with suggested course of actions;
• Supplementing strategic decisions of the group with analytical information and relevant suggestions;
Financial analysis and planning
• Assisting in finalization of group business plans and financial projections, relevant for submission to key lenders;
• Due diligence and valuation assignments to support acquisitions;
• Analyzing tax impacts and executing group-wide netting of balances with the object of streamlining balance sheets.
Achievements and performance highlights:
• Set up treasury function across group from inception, including:
a) Setting up reporting structure and format for cash forecasts;
b) Group-wide implementation of treasury management application “Kyriba”;
c) Centralizing forex and interest rate hedging functions;
d) Providing centralized reporting for consolidated cash positions-current as well as near-term projections;
• Interest hedging decisions leading to reduction of interest costs by approx. $0.2 ml;
• Key role in handling leveraged acquisition and restructurings (deal values up to USD 80 ml);
• Managed VAT implementation for group’s UAE component

• Financial statement consolidation for diversified business groups and limited review reports for listed entities.

Assignments handled during internship: -Tax Audits relating to both direct and indirect taxation of public and private Companies. -Statutory, concurrent and internal audits under banking sector. -Preparation of return of income, block returns, TDS Compliances, wealth tax returns.
