advantage for BASF PAME.
o Responsible for Order Placement Timing, Supply / Demand Alignment, Material Replenishment and
Supplier Performance.
o Actively purchase designated major packaging. This includes source selection, negotiations, collaboration
with using departments on specification and methods.
o Maintain current knowledge of significant foreign and domestic business, UN/DOT packaging regulations,
sources of supply, pricing structures, market conditions, new purchasing techniques and similar matters
related to packaging.
o On a continuous basis, evaluate the expertise, technical, financial and business qualifications of new and
existing suppliers.
o Continuously monitoring, evaluating and improving supplier performance.
o Reviewing tenders and bids.
o Preparing high quality tender documentation.
o Regularly contacting suppliers to renegotiate prices.
o Resolving disputes and claims with vendors and suppliers.
o Monitoring delivery times to ensure they are on time.
o Promoting best practise across the company.
o Strategically source and promote development of additional or alternate sources to assure continuous
supply and competitive pricing, meeting all critical material requirements.
o Monitor contract and agreement escalation's and pricing mechanisms to initiate negotiations to insure
competitive pricing.
o Monitor and manage supplier performance, monitoring quality, cost competitiveness and adherence to
delivery schedules and customer service.
o Understand market trend manufacturing processes and factors affecting supply availability and pricing of
products procured.
o Maintain knowledge of packaging raw materials utilized by supplier base in order to identify availability of
said material and monitor supplier costs. This in turn will be used to successfully negotiate with supplier
base.
o Ensure that all transactions follow BASF Policies & Procedures to meet all legal contract/purchase
