• My role includes without limited to - Develop health objectives, strategies, and study
methods. - Design and execute research studies to guide effective use of information and
resources. - Lead and direct plans to calculate various costs related to health care. - Utilize
research programs on health economics topics. - Suggest new health outcomes for
treatment and prevention of health issues. - Evaluate current and proposed strategies and interpret findings. - Proactively identify market access opportunities for the organization
through effective planning and development of financially sound business proposals. - Effectively allocate and deploy resources including people, activities, projects and investment - Contribute to strategic discussion/market access planning processes to enhance effectiveness of implementation of corporate strategies. - Communicate economic assessment results to appropriate internal audiences. - Develop and execute
health economic issues, solutions, and other topics. - Ensure that medical care is provided to
all patients in an effective and efficient way. - Provide training and education sessions to educate about health economics. - Performs other duties as required to meet developing organizational needs.
• The overall aim of the Health Economics Department was to aid decision makers to make efficient and equitable decisions about the allocation of scarce resources by comparing the costs and benefits of health care interventions.
• As a head of Health Economics Department, I was leading, managing, and coordinating the work of the three sub-sections hosted in the department:
• National Health Accounts section, Health Technology Assessment section, and Health Financing Strategy section.
• I also participated in multi-discipline and multi-sectoral committees to inform the decision makers regarding the cost, benefit, cost-effectiveness, or the economic impact of the discussed topics.
• Conducted several short courses trainings on the following topics : - Health Economics awareness - Health Financing for Universal Health Coverage - National Health Accounts - Health Economics Evaluation - Development of HTA in Jordan
• Reviewing drugs dossiers submitted for the therapeutic and pharmaceutical committee from economic perspective to include the drug in the Rational Drug List. This includes literature review, calculating the budget impact of this drug and show how it re-shapes the amount of fund paid after approving the drug to the rational drug list.
• As a member of national multi-discipline committees relating to health economics and health policy, my responsibility included without limited to, conducting economic evaluation for the drugs and inform the decision maker regarding the cost-effectiveness or the feasibility of investment in these technologies or policies. • Conducting all types of radiologic procedures for patients requested by physicians including without limited to, general x-ray radiographs, Computed Tomography (CT), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) .
