My job is to conceive, conceptualize, and develop Arabic copy for ATL and BTL campaigns. I use the Arabic medium to create compelling content for high-profiles across diversified industries like automotive, real estate, and retail products. Other duties include adaptation of press releases/newsletters for PR department, drafting letters for government authorities, internal corporate communications, training materials for group HR, company polices, etc.
Working as a translation section head included the following tasks:
• Managing a team composed of 8 in-house translators in addition to several freelance translators
• Participating in bidding/quotation process for new clients
• Working as an external QA for other clients
• Reviewing samples of translated work to ensure quality standards are met
• Communicating with clients regarding linguistic issues and replying to feedbacks
• Training translators on specific fields of translation, specific projects, CAT tools, etc.
Working as a language reviewer involved the following tasks:
• Bilingual review or monolingual editing of translated documents
• Working as translator in transcreation (highly marketing translation) projects
• Working as an external QA for other clients
• Coaching/managing translation teams of two or more translators during large projects
• Communicating with clients regarding linguistic issues and replying to feedbacks
• Training translators on specific fields of translation, specific projects, CAT tools, etc.
• Using specific types of CMS to upload/translate content and perform layout testing for several clients
Work involved translation/review of documents, websites, software, help files. Other tasks related to position were to perform DTP QA, linguistic testing, and transcreation of marketing texts.
Work involved the English/Arabic translation of documents, websites, software, help files. Have worked in various fields, primarily IT, financial/legal documents, and marketing materials.
