A mid-size family group with a mixed business of operating income and financial investments diversified
among different segments of equity markets, fixed income, private equities and operational entities, the
operational businesses include digital media, entertainment, hospitalities and real estate with nine subsidiaries in MENA region.
Achievements and Responsibilities
• Boosting the shareholders' value by increasing 7% EBITDA margin via driving a sustainable growth of revenue and enhancing the cost optimization.
• Achieving 11.7% ROI on a running conservative investments portfolio consists of different financial instruments and derivatives by maintaining proper allocations of underlying assets and diversified markets, effective management of exposure risks and using optimal level of leverage at all time.
• Enhancing the group compliances, regulations and governance and perform a regular risk assessments, analytics and apply the relevant strategies and hedging techniques to mitigate the risk overall businesses and subsidiaries, including interest rate, currency, financial, liquidity, market and operational risk.
• Managing a portfolio of +250M USD with combination of investments including Bonds, Stocks, derivatives, money market, private equity, venture capital, real estate and operating income.
• Formulating business strategies for Al Obthani group and performing all required analysis to track the business activities and assist the CEO in enhancing overall performance and providing the relevant advises and recommendations to keep the group at highest level of efficiency.
• Analyzing investments opportunities and perform critical researches and investigations to support the executive management in the appropriate investment's decision.
• Leading acquisitions and due diligence activities for new investments activities and perform the complete businesses' evaluations and setting the strategies with CEO to maximize the group value.
• Developing and evaluating short and long-term financial strategies for the group, and ensure the alignment with overall group business strategies.
• Managing the group liquidity and boosting the group free cash flow by improving the working capital position, planning for the group's leverage needs and maintains a strategic relationship with relevant banks and other selected financial institutions.
• Oversee preparation of group's financials, operations plans, and manage financial operations for subsidiary companies, including annual budgets, setting targets, ensuring robust of governance structures and regulations.
• Review group's financial position, implement a reporting framework and issues a periodic reports to support the business's financial stability, liquidity and growth
• Provide feasibility studies and recommendations for real estate future projects with CAPEX, OPEX, NPV and IRR evaluations and recommend course of actions to CEO and board.
