I am currently leading the delivery of a £32m residential scheme which includes 194 apartments for private rental in the
heart of Bristol. As well as leading a team of 20 and a large external design team, my primary role is to work closely with the
customer and their key stakeholders whilst also producing and maintaining the construction programme. I led the project and
consultant teams through the pre-construction phase of the project on to site, managing all aspects of the delivery, design and
procurement of packages where I continue to do so as the project reaches the halfway point.

Cardiff Met Sports Complex £8.5m
I led the preconstruction of a new sports complex with swimming pool for Cardiff Metropolitan University. My role
involved leading the design consultants to RIBA Stage 4, whilst scoping and pricing packages against a cost plan to reach a
target cost for the client. This culminated in presenting the project pack to the Director of strategy and Director of Finance for
approval. The role involved extensive client engagement including end users, as well as extensive Value Engineering to meet
the client's budgetary requirements.

I led the delivery of a mixed use community Hub which included a 25m swimming pool on behalf of Cardiff County
Council from pre-construction through to commissioning, handover and successful sign off of the 12 month defect liability
period. My role initially involved coordinating the design teams and engaging with the supply chain to meet the budgetary
requirements and provide a Target Cost to enter contract with the client. I then led the project team through the 61-week
construction programme, successfully handing over on time and on budget. A key part of the role was developing and
maintaining client relationships as well as managing and driving the design teams to meet the budgetary and programme
requirements.

I was seconded to Bison as part of the Young Guns Programme where i led the company through various business
improvement initiatives and reviewed the overall commercial strategy of Bison across their Derbyshire and Scottish
manufacturing plants. The role included producing and coordinating a master plan for the redevelopment of both plants with the
aim of doubling annual turnover by 2020. This included reviewing the diversification of products produced beyond just precast
concrete. The role also included overseeing the coordination of precast concrete production and delivery from 4 different
manufacturing facilities across the UK to a £100m project in the heart of Glasgow. Throughout my varied role, I gained valuable

different businesses as well as forming key client relationships.

I led the technical delivery of a new mental health unit on the outskirts of Cardiff. I was responsible for leading and
managing all logistical, technical and quality activities on the project as well as key stakeholder management. I led a team of 10
Engineers, working directly for me, as well as a large consultant design team where I provided functional guidance and
subsequently assured the engineering integrity and stability of the works across all disciplines.

UH Bristol Projects £100m
I led the technical delivery of the redevelopment of Bristol Royal Infirmary which included a brand new ward mixed use
ward block, helipad and refurbishment of the existing hospital. I was responsible for leading and managing all logistical,
technical and quality activities on the project from the Outline Business Case to Full Business Case and then on to construction.
I had a team of 12 Engineers working directly for me together with a large consultant design team to whom I provided functional
guidance and subsequently assured the engineering integrity and stability of the works. In light of my significant involvement in
the OBC and FBC submissions I could build solid client relationships that assisted in the successful delivery of the scheme. My
performance on the project lead to me being selected for the Laing O'Rourke Young Guns programme.

A large PFI contract on behalf of the MOD, I led the delivery of a large section of work on the scheme from steel frame
erection through to commissioning and handover. A notable highlight was handing over the section 2 weeks ahead of
programme. My main duties involved planning, coordinating and managing all subcontractors pre-site and on site activities as
well as liaison with the client and independent certifier to ensure compliance to the contract.

I secured a secondment to the Arup design office in Cardiff as part of my progression towards professional membership. During
my time at Arup, I gained a good understanding of the consulting process. I was able to work on an array of projects that
involved both concept & detailed Infrastructure Design, preparation of reports, drawings & specifications. Producing such
documents allowed me to extensively use Standards, Codes of Practice and various legislation and local authority requirements
which I've been able to carry through with me through my career.

responsible for the dimensional control and quality of construction for 4 of the 9 residential blocks. I acquired valuable experience
of tight, fast programs with staged handovers, where good trade contractor management was key.

After completing my first year at University I secured a summer placement on the £75m Project Red Dragon in St Athan. During
my time on the project I assisted the engineering department in all dimensional and quality control as well as gaining a real
understanding of various construction processes. At the end of my first summer placement I secured a place on Laing
O'Rourke's sponsored student scheme and as a result I was able to return to the project after my 2

year at University.
