Clinical Manager and Senior Clinician within a private practice of 20 other clinicians made up of Osteopath, Physiotherapist, Sports Therapists and Acupuncturists seeing over 600 patients a week
The role involves:
-Training all clinical staff on company processes and electronic note systems.
-Implementing weekly clinical CPD training across the company for staff.
-Auditing all clinical notes and tracking patient outcomes and progression via objective as well as subjective markers within the note system.
-Dealing with patient complaints as well as overseeing complex cases such as patients with central and peripheral nervous system lesions.
-Mentoring clinical staff as set out by the Institute of Osteopathy.
-Implementing the Telehealth system as a result of Covid-19. This has allowed us to do virtual MSK appointments on a national level.
-Setting up links with St Georges University for student Physiotherapists to do their internships within the clinics.
-Seeing my own patient list composed of both chronic postural and degenerative musculoskeletal conditions, as well as patients with systemic conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system.
-Treatment would involve a mixture of hands on techniques such as soft tissue techniques, joint mobilization and joint and spinal manipulation, medical acupuncture.
-Rehabilitation exercises are also prescribed based on agreed patient and clinician goals, and then monitored and progressed as required based on retesting.
-Performing Musculoskeletal sonography of patients in the clinic as and when required and referring on for further imaging where need be.

Senior manager within a company of 7 clinics in the United Kingdom. The patient bases includes paediatrics to geriatrics, with 300 patients a week attending each clinic. My role -
-Managing 18 Osteopaths and Chiropractors and 7 Sports Therapists.
- Initial examination of patients, which includes case history, orthopaedic and functional testing, static EMG of patients nervous system and if required, taking and measuring up spinal x-rays based on the Harrison spinal curve model. Assessing spinal as well as peripheral neuromusculoskeletal complaints.
-Relating spinal curvature changes with age from paediatrics to adult development.
-Gait assessment and orthotic prescription (if needed).
- Diagnosis of patient presenting complaint.
- Outlining patient care, treatment protocol, scheduling and referring on if required. --Organising daily team meetings before and after shifts to discuss patients that day and patients for the following day and addressing any issues that may have arisen. --Re-assessing patients after treatment within the clinic and re-evaluating patient treatment plans.
-Prescribing patient exercises and stretches as well as holding educational workshops for patients as well as their family members in order to help with treatment compliance.
-Arranging staff education and discussing new research within the field of Osteopathy, Chiropractics, Physical rehabilitation as well as general medicine.
-Holding weekly meeting with other managerial staff and the managing director to discuss clinic performance and continuing progression via statistical data collected at the end of each week.
-Treatment of patients involves joint mobilization, articulation, soft tissue and spinal manipulation as well as a specific form of Chiropractics called Chiropractic BioPhysics which we within the company are trained on daily. When need be joint strapping, acupuncture as well as physical training is performed.
-Interviewing and hiring staff for the various clinics within the company.

Senior Osteopathic and Movement Rehabilitation Specialist and Manager at Grays Health and Fitness Rehab and Training Centre

As head of rehabilitation, my role in the company comprised of:
-Setting out best practice protocols for patients, clients attending the gym and the running of the clinic based on research.
-Weekly meetings with all members of staff both individually and as a group to discuss patients and clients attending the clinic and any problems that may be occurring.
-Assessing patients initially attending the clinic and filtering them through to the appropriate therapist and physical trainer.
-As the clinic was located in an area with many schools, a large number of students would be referred to us. Many of the presenting complaints were postural related due to the weight of school bags and hours at a desk. Parents would be worried about their children’s further growth and development due to these changes so, as a team, we would educate the parents and children on ergonomics, postural exercises and strengthening programs.
-Children with learning difficulties such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Dyspraxia would placed on specific exercise programs with the physical trainers.
-Pre and Post partum females also attended the clinic with various symptoms due to mechanical changes from the pregnancy leading to issues such as sacroiliac joint dysfunction, carpel tunnel syndrome, planter fasciitis and thoracic outlet syndrome. These would be dealt with various forms of manual and physical therapy with progression on to strengthening exercises.
-Amateur athletes attending the centre would be assessed for any muscular imbalances and if found would be addressed and put on to specific strength training programs.
-As a team we would liaise with other healthcare professionals regarding patient and client care.
-I would assist in looking after the day to day running of the clinic and make sure all trainers paperwork is up to date.
-Interviewing and hiring trainers and sports therapists.

1st Team Sports Medicine Osteopath at AFC Hayes Footbal Team

-Meeting with the manager and coaches with regards to return to play times and training strategies for injured players.

Main medical practitioner for the Palestinian Olympic Team at the London 2012 Olympic Games. My main role involved
-Assessing and maintaining the functional musculoskeletal health of athletes within the team. This was done by case history, functional movement testing, orthopaedic testing and manual testing.
-When needed, various forms of imaging were ordered to rule in or out red flags, ligamentous sprains and muscular strains.
-Depending on the type of injury, specific treatment and rehabilitation protocols were then implemented, such as bracing/immobilization, taping, soft tissue/joint manipulation and exercise prescription.
-When non-musculoskeletal disorders needed treating I would refer the athletes as well as team delegates to the appropriate practitioners within the Polyclinic at the Olympic Village.

In the younger patients treatment generally involved functional release techniques and gentle articulation as well as fascial release work. This was especially useful for babies who traumatic births, cesarean sections and forceps delivery.
