•Provide education related to diabetes and the disease process; medication, diet and nutrition monitoring, Foot care prevention and care of complication, blood glucose monitoring and the techniques of self-monitoring and insulin injection.
•Develop and implement educational programs for patients and their family
•Assist patients in monitoring blood glucose for the purpose of medication control
•Assess, monitor and implement plans for patients at various stages of the disease
•Giving medical care instructions, providing drug information and scheduling follow-up appointments.
•Using proper medical terminology. Translating such information as the reason for a medical visit, past medical history and family medical history, as well as explaining medical and surgical procedures.
•Act as conduit between patients and medical professionals by listening to the professional and orally translating information into a patient's and their family native language
•Personally, handles all patients’ administrative requirements and resolving any concerns. Link between patients and all other departments
