JOB SCOPE:
• Responsible for the implementation and compliance of DEWA Integrated Management Systems (IMS) in the departmental level; maintain departmental quality, safety, environmental procedures, and other IMS documentations required.
• Coordinate, implement and comply with the Enterprise Risk Management requirements within the department. Act as focal point for the department, and custodian of risk management documentations. Develop and maintain documentations related to ERM.
• Coordinate, implement and comply with the Business Continuity Management requirements within the department.
• Develop and maintain documentations related to BCM.
Perform maintenance works for all kinds of electrical related complaints in the assigned area of responsibility.
• Follow up all electrical technicians for all the complaints received during our shift for timely and quality resolution of the said complaints.
• Assisting the electrical technicians for complaints that needs in depth troubleshooting.
• Reporting to Shift Engineer regarding the status of all complaints received.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by my superior.
Carry-out Factory Acceptance Test (Routine and Type Test) at the Manufacturer’s works and Inspect all Electrical Equipment procured by DEWA either locally or *overseas (i.e. *Areva, Switzerland; Areva, Turkey; ABB, Switzerland; Nexans, Greece; LS Cables, Korea; Taihan Electric Cables, Korea; Iljin Cables, Korea; TAMCO Switchgear, Malaysia; TEZZAR, Italy; Col Giovanni, Catania; WTW, Germany; PT Voksel, Indonesia, PT Siemens, Indonesia; Sunten, China; Saudi Transformers Company, KSA; Riyadh Cables, KSA etc.)
• Checked and inspect the equipment and scrutinize the test results based on IEC and DEWA Specifications and give the appropriate recommendations.
• Making technical correspondences related to the inspection, contractor’s and consultant’s technical clarifications.
• Carrying-out Safe Receipt Inspection of the equipment upon arrival at site to ensure no damage to the equipment/materials.
• Custodian for all the process related to Pre-qualification of Manufacturers, Contractors, and Consultants & Suppliers in compliance with DEWA Qualification Methodology.
• Custodian for all DEWA Technical Specification revisions/changes.
• Develop database in monitoring the status of the Qualification Methodology.
• Assist my immediate superior in the Tender Preparation and Evaluation for the technical aspects of the project.
1. Operations:
• Performs proper execution of standard operating and switching procedures during distribution of power, load shedding, scheduled power interruptions, normal and emergency power shutdown and restoration and testing of transmission and distribution lines thru SCADA or Manual Switching.
• Coordinate closely with Load Dispatching Unit at the regional control center and with the Area Control Center for proper action during emergency power shutdown and restoration.
• Records and analyze the hourly readings of the different parameters displayed at the monitoring and measuring devices and recommends/execute appropriate actions relative to the readings.
• Preparations of the Daily Operational Reports, Spot Outage Report, Monthly Interruption Report and other pertinent papers which concerns the Substation Operations.
2. Maintenance:
• Performs the Daily Patrol Checklist to ensure that all the Substation Equipment area operating normally and in good condition and to report to the immediate superior for any unusual occurrences that is critical to the operation.
• Participates in the maintenance work of the major substation equipment and accessories.
• Participate in the implementation of local energy conservation, preventive maintenance, reliability and availability programs, and safety and security guidelines.
3. Integrated Management System (IMS):
• Participate in Integrated Management System (IMS) activities in order to generate quality improvement and contribute to the attainment of quality objective which is to deliver quality, safe and environment friendly electricity.
4. Environment & Safety:
• Observe rules and regulations on safety, health and environment in the area of responsibility in order to ensure safety and compliance.
• Proper implementation of equipment tagging procedures to ensure the safety of the personnel during scheduled & unscheduled maintenance works.
• Exercise good safety practices; EnerCon; Implement the 5’s and Good housekeeping within the area of responsibility.
5. Others:
• Conducts monthly meter reading and data downloading to all Customers (Cooperatives and Industrial )
• Transmit/receives important messages relating to substation operations and maintenance.
• Act as Officer-in-charge in cases where immediate superiors are on official travel.
1. Detailed design:
• Electric Cable Way (Trays & Hangers) - Accommodation, Engine Room, On-upper Deck & Bos’n Store
Responsible in making the detailed design of electric cable ways of the ship.
Coordinate with other design teams to ensure no errors, conflicts with the design in connection with the design of other teams like accommodation piping team, machinery piping team and other teams that were connected with the design.
Prepares the detailed plan of the cableway using AutoCAD for fabrication and installation purposes at the shipyard.
Conducts on-board activities to inspect that the design were all followed to the standard during the
fabrication and installation at the ship.
Coordinate with the factory workers and shipyard personnel for possible design revision and
other related matter.
• Arrangement of Electrical Equipment
Responsible in the proper arrangement of all Electrical Equipment of the ship in accordance with the Ship
Building Practice, Company Standards and conforms to the SOLAS regulation.
Translate the design into plan using AutoCAD for proper installation in conformance with the standards.
Conducts regular inspection on-board the ship for proper implementation of the design.
Coordinate with other design teams to ensure no errors, conflicts with the design in connection with the design of other teams like accommodation piping team, machinery piping team & other teams which were related with design.
Coordinate with shipyard personnel with matters related to the design implementation.
• Wiring Plan of Electric Equipment
In-charge in making the wiring route and wiring connection of each equipment basing on the four Electrical
System of the ship (Lighting, Power, Automatic and IC, NAV & Radio System).
Responsible in the actual measurements of the cables for the Electrical Cable Lists for purchasing purposes.
Coordinate with the shipyard personnel during the wiring installation for design standard conformity and
other matters related to the design.
