Welcomes patients and visitors to the unit and offers assistance as needed and able. Responsible to answer patient
calls and communicate information to staff in a timely and accurate manner. Proficiency in use of call light system
including the set up and maintenance of beepers.
Coordinates patient care activities. Supports the admission and discharge processes to maximize patient
throughput.
Maintains the patient's medical record and associated unit records in accordance with the standards of the medical
record department and in compliance with HIPAA and The Joint Commission regulations.
Participates in projects, and other information gathering activities approved by the nurse manager.
Performs administrative and clerical duties as assigned. Maintains adequate supplies for the unit and keeps proper
documentation on all supply
Written Communications:Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external
customers.
Oral Communications:Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical
center staff, patients, families and external customers.
