A.Environment:
-Prepare quarterly and annual professional environmental reports.
-Develop Waste Management procedures.
-Issue and update AFPC Environmental related policies (Environmental policy, Waste Management policy, Water Management policy, Hydrogen Sulphide policy, Ionising Radiation policy, Abandonment policy, Ozone Depleting Substances Policy and Biodiversity Policy.
-Prepare a plan and time table for the replacement of CFC’s in accordance with Syrian Regulatory Requirements and the Montreal Protocol.
-Develop knowledge of major environmental problems in the Oil and Gas industry.
-Conduct, plan, arrange and supervise the environmental awareness school campaign in the area of AFPC operations as part of increasing public environmental awareness campaign.
-Participate in environmental protection programs with Damascus municipality.
-Co-ordinate and maintain contact with the Syrian stakeholders e.g. Atomic Energy Commission, Syrian Environmental Ministry and Syrian Oil Ministry/ Environmental Protection Directorate.
-Promote implementation of Sustainable development.
-Advise, assist contractors on the implementation of the environmental standards.
-Assist with high-level committee to solve the NORM problems within the Oil industry in Syria.
B.Road Safety & ER:
-Advise and assist in establishing the transportation system and Safe Journey Management. Develop journey management system for AFPC in conjunction with OPL and HSEF departments
-Update driving awareness course (prepare driving awareness package for AFPC staff), including hearts and minds session & other related policies and ensure its implementation
-Implement related RS recommendations from the HSE MS Audit i.e. Damascus Incidents Reporting.
-Carry out HSE induction course for new AFPC staff,
-Custodian of AFPC Road Transport HSE case
-Assist in the re-implementation of IVMS within AFPC
-Conduct a six monthly road safety audit of both AFPC & contractors,
-Define and implement consistent vehicle standards and maximum age/max kilometers for both AFPC and contractor fleet,
-Increase awareness on road safety by providing materials and publications.
-Coordinate the SHE forum (oil companies in Syria) campaigns to promote HSE principles into the local community in Dez and Damascus,
-Mobilize Building Emergency Response Teams,
-Prepare the Emergency Response Plans & Buildings Safety Systems for AFPC buildings,
-Participated in accident investigations.
-Control the response to the major emergencies and being AFPC ER Coordinator
-Liaise with SSPD and SIEP (HSE) and other operators in Syria on RS matters,
C.HSE:
-Assist in developing Company HSE policies, standards, and procedures and define other HSE equipment/facilities required to protect personnel, assets and the environment.
-Assist in monitoring, analyzing and reporting the corporate HSE performance to business and shareholders, and assist in providing advise to management team and ensure meeting corporate HSE targets.
-Assist in defining HSE plans and ensure timely HSE auditing/inspection of activities, facilities and the implementation of procedures. Monitor & follow up.
