Plans, Manages & coordinates Procurement activities in line with companies Policies & Procedures.
Participates in defining and developing the scope of Procurement works and in preparing & coordinating Procurement plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts and budgets. Actively involved in MIS (Management Information System) Reporting.
Responsible for handling major MEP equipment’s as listed in Procurement Portfolio with keen focus towards Profitability, Cost savings, quality, reduce cycle-time & suggest Value Engineering Proposals.
Involvement in Site operations and key role in appointing Labor Subcontract works like Lifting & Shifting of Equipment’s, HV & LV Cable Pulling and terminations and miscellaneous works as per the Project requirement.
Study the material technically for which the enquiry has to be floated and clarify with the Project/Site Team if any additional information is required to float the enquiry.
Prepare Enquiry package (RFQ) incorporating the Scope of work, equipment schedule, relevant drawings & specification, Vendor list, BOQ, etc. and send the same to Suppliers and obtain quotations.
Contribute to implement and update the vendor’s database in terms of new vendor’s registration and key performance index of existing ones.
Market research and development of global reliable sources for the assigned commodities, maintaining awareness of key market trends and pricing, as well as the development of new materials or products.
Identification and capture of procurement savings opportunities in close interaction with the Project team.
Proposing Value Engineering Proposals from time to time to improve efficiency & reduce cost.
Preparation of Techno commercial comparison and finalize the material based on Technical compliance, best prices, delivery and credit terms. Concludes based on specific strategy, need and business policy.
Issues Letter of Intent and obtain award acceptance from the bidder. Prepare contract terms, conditions and commercial schedules.
Try to obtain 90% submittal approval on first proposed Supplier/Materials & 100% submittal approval on second proposed Supplier/Materials.
Preparation of Purchase Order, Supply agreement/Subcontract Agreements & ensure the PO/SA/SCA reflects the actual content of the Purchase Requisitions with reference to all the technical specifications, documentation and QA/QC requirements.
Performs Technical Expediting; for Long lead & engineered Items. Reviewing & updating of Procurements Schedules on regular basis & attending Project Progress Meetings.
Conversant with the IEC, BS & UL Standards, NFPA, KAHRAMAA & QCD requirements for MEP project materials procurement. Ensures the Corporate & QHSE Policy in all the Procurement functions

Expertise in handling procurement for different types of project Viz. Power/Water Transmission & distribution Networks, Pumping Stations, Industrial Facilities etc.

As an Asst. Manager Purchase was entrusted with the responsibility to supervise a team of 07 Procurement Professionals to oversee procurement for different types of project Viz. High-Rise Buildings, Hospitals, Schools, Malls, Resorts, Waterparks, Defense & military maintenance Projects etc. for various prestigious clients

Entrusted with the responsibility of procurement of engineering materials for “PDO’s Qarn Alam Steam Injection Project” worth of $140 M (An EPC contract from ‘Petroleum Development of Oman’).
Played & key role in finalizing the Electrical, over headline, Instrumentation, Control & Automation procurement for this prestigious project which Galfar completed before time & with huge profits.
Handled procurement for various other Oil & Gas projects viz. Gathering stations, Depletion-Compression projects as well as many Power Transmission & Distribution projects.
Gained solid exposure to international Procurement Concepts & other concepts like Inventory reduction, Scrap selling, technical expediting, ERP Implementation. Attended various seminars on Electrical, Instrumentation trends & technologies.
Participated in Pre-bid support (Materials Part Only) for power projects namely NIMR 132KV Central Substation Project, New 220KV Misfah and Barkah Grid Stations and Installation of required Overhead Lines Project and 2X50MVA Transformer Substation for Gulf Aluminums Rolling Mills at Sohar.
Shouldered estimation & tendering responsibilities encompassing:
o Ensuring scrutiny of tender documents & evaluating documents, drawings & schedules, reviewing contract and commercials terms for assessing risk.
o Preparing and submitting accurate cost estimation and competitive techno-commercial offers.
o Coordinating with Design Team to finalize on the BOQ and interpreting tendering processes and procedures to ensure all aspects of tenders are met including relevant discipline codes and standards.

To review vendors and suppliers quotations to determine best cost effective offer and delivery date.
To review quotations of identified technical and commercial specifications received from the vendors and suppliers.
Purchase order preparation for Inventory, Non inventory & capital Items.
Purchase report analysis. Coordinating with Design, Stores, Logistics, Finance & Quality department.
Vendor planning, development and Analysis. Gained exposure over subcontracting process.
Co-ordination with stores delivery and Liasoning with the finance for timely payment to the suppliers.
Experience in Purchasing from domestic as well as International Vendors. Have very good experience in Vendor Development, Vendor Negotiation and Management.
