KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
o Projects management - Manage IT infrastructure new projects during the planning, designing and implementation stages. Ensure projects objectives are achieved within approved budget.
o Infrastructure Enhancement- Discover solution to improve current infrastructure services.
o Directly supervise Infrastructure employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Responsibilities also include interviewing, hiring, and training outsourced employees.
o Projects Capita Budget - Prepare annual capital budget for infrastructure's new projects.
o IT architecture plan - Architect services and systems to meet demands, reduce costs and increase the effectiveness of IT resources across locations and data centers.
o Design, implement, monitor and manage servers and related storage and operating systems that process and support corporate business applications.
o Administer the Change Management process to ensure compliance, and all changes to the production environment have been tested, documented and approved prior to implementation.
o Key Performance Indicators: Define and Monitor IT Infrastructure Key Performance Indicators, and ensure that KPI targets are achieved.
o Disaster recovery — responsible for assisting the Head of IT in planning proper redundancy and disaster recovery for all critical IT infrastructure systems to minimize downtime and facilitate efficient recovery in case of disasters.
o Evaluate and recommend infrastructure components including hardware, software, management tools and consultation services..
o Documentation - Document all technical and non-technical key areas related to the IT Infrastructure. Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
o Self- Management Responsibilities
o Agree on the performance goals at the beginning of the year in discussion with the reporting manager
o Take personal initiative and strive to achieve high levels of proficiency on all the tasks to be performed as a part of the role
o Actively seek inputs from superiors and peers, to identify opportunities for improving own performance and developing own capability

o Moving the desktops environments running Windows 2000 to Windows XP & Windows 7
o Moving from Smart Stream to Great Plains ERP
o Using the new voucher system that creates a seamless process in issuing invoices
o Upgrading from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 & finally to Exchange 2010
* Planning for future technological upgrades for the DFM environment. This includes: o Testing new technologies, both hardware and software
o Studying best practises to implement new technologies such as Exchange Server 2010 and Server 2008 R2 and 2012
o Assessing the potential upgrade of desktops to Windows 7 and 8
o Analysing the latest technologies for scanning and archiving and its implementation at DFM.
